A Woman Worth Billions, Dated the Wrong Brother

A Woman Worth Billions, Dated the Wrong Brother

Twice. Again— Metal bending. Pieces breaking. The room froze around him. But he didn’t care. His breathing was uneven. His hands shaking— Not from weakness. From fury. Jason paused the video. Silence filled the room. “He lost control,” Jason said. I shook my head slowly. “No.” Jason looked at me. “That wasn’t loss of control,” I said quietly. “That was the result of control failing.” Jason’s expression darkened. I looked back at the frozen image.

False Perfection

False Perfection

Gary cleared his throat, hoping no one had noticed his hand, and casually retracted it. "I just panicked," Rowena repeated. She exhaled and this time with much more conviction, "I was overwhelmed. I've never had it that good before and I didn't know what to do with myself." Then she turned to Gary and with the utmost sincerity said, "I'm sorry, Gary."

His Dirty Little Secret

His Dirty Little Secret

“And you? You've mentioned the exhaustion of control. What was the breaking point—the real one, not the car crash story you tell at parties?” He was quiet for a moment, staring at the stars, then spoke quietly, his voice raw. “It was losing my best friend from college. We started the company together, but I pushed too hard—nights without sleep, demanding perfection. He burned out, walked away, cut ties. Blamed me, and he was right. Taught me control isn't strength; it's a cage. Now, I choose balance. Like this—with you.”

Sinful Thoughts

Sinful Thoughts

William I’ve always prided myself on being in control. Everything has gone according to a plan, a schedule and an end goal. Spontaneity and I fell out of each other’s favor years ago and I never reconciled that relationship. And I was okay with it. I am okay with it. Losing control once threw my life in a loop of chaos and fucking destruction and I can’t do chaos. Chaos is the source of all evil. Chaos would push me over the edge I’ve been walking for as long as I can remember.

Mine To Break

Mine To Break

--- Cassian Glances at Her “Better how?” --- A Pause Then— “Without control.” --- The Architect’s Expression Shifts Slightly Not disagreement. Curiosity “That’s not possible,” he said. Aria Meets His Gaze “It is.” A Beat “It just won’t be perfect.” Silence Because that— Was the difference. Perfection vs Reality --- The Architect Finally Steps Back Not retreating. Letting go “Then we’ll see,” he said. And for the first time— He turns away. **No control. No system.

The Bound Collection

The Bound Collection

His words were sincere, but I'd be grateful if I never had to tell another soul. The conversation went to school and a glimpse at my family, but I wouldn't divulge details on any part of my life. Everything I shared was superficial. It wasn't that I was trying to hide anything, I was just particular about who I gave information to, and some things never left the vault. The appearance of my life tended to overwhelm people. But it was just that-a tidy appearance. My apartment spoke volumes about how I lived, so did my job, my report card, and my overall personality. Everything had a place; nothing could be out of order-that was the control I took to keep the demons at bay. Control was an illus

Alpha Rafael: Chasing My Ex Wife

Alpha Rafael: Chasing My Ex Wife

"Not when I'm this close to losing control. Not when I'm hanging on a rope that's thinner than your fucking underwear." Her breath catches. I see the flicker in her eyes, the way her legs moves, squeezing together like she's trying to suppress what's already flooding through her. Fuck. Fuck and Fuck. She's making me loose my sanity. Loose my mind. Losse every bit of my self. I fucking don't know what I want anymore. I'm fuckimg loosing control... And I hate this. Control. It's the only thing that's ever made sense to me.The tight grip, the sharp edges, the power of restraint. It's how I've survived, how I've ruled, how I've kept myself from falling apart.

This is really a good story. While I do enjoy a good revenge story, I also think Raphael should have directed it towards the real culprit Linda instead of targeting Lila. I expected her wolf to be more of her defender rather than telling her to submit to him. Maybe that will change the more I read

Highly recommend this book! Why? Because it has everything I love A feisty, strong-willed heroine who refuses to stay down, and a ruthless alpha hell-bent on revenge. The chemistry, the tension? Chef's kiss. I’m absolutely in love with this story. Lila doesn’t stay weak. I adore her so much.

PERFECT RUIN

PERFECT RUIN

He was really trying to frustrate me and kudos to him because it was definitely working. However, I wasn't going to react. I wasn't going to show him how much he was getting under my skin. “I can handle this. I'm in control,” I whispered to myself in an attempt to calm myself down. I started going through the cases, working twice as fast as I could to be able to meet up with the deadline. I was halfway through the first report when he walked into the office. I was too buried in work to even realize he left in the first place.

Sacred Obsession

Sacred Obsession

I forcefully suppressed the thought, refusing to give it weight, form, or permission. I stopped near the table, bracing my hands against the wood, head lowered. This wasn’t how control eroded; not suddenly, or violently; It slipped away quietly, gradually, one moment, one decision, one step too close that didn’t register as a mistake until it was already behind you. I knew this pattern all too well. Paris hadn’t been chaos, it had been an illusion of it, it had been control, structured, intentional, precise. And that precision was what made it so dangerous, because control, when misused, didn’t prevent collapse, it merely disguised it.

Vegas Vows: A Billionaire's Gamble

Vegas Vows: A Billionaire's Gamble

But it was gone before I could place it. “You’ll adjust,” he said finally, turning back to the window. “Sure.” I should’ve left then, but I didn’t. Something kept me rooted in place, staring at the man who seemed so untouchable yet so completely alone. “You know,” I said softly, “you don’t have to keep everything perfect all the time.” He looked at me then, eyes like blue ice under city lights. “Perfection is control, Sophia. And control is necessary.” “Even in your own home?”
