His shoulders were slouched forward, like he was carrying a heavy load.
"Hey, Mia," he murmured. His voice was rough, like he hadn't spoken in hours.
"You're hiding," I stated, abandoning the pretense that I was just here to grab supplies. I walked over to the metal cabinet, grabbed a roll of pre-wrap just to have something in my hands, and turned to face him.
"I'm thinking."
"You're hiding," I repeated, moving closer. "The rest of the team is probably at Benny's celebrating the 'New Era,' and Valerie is definitely planning some kind of social media reveal, and you're in here sitting in the dark throwing a ball at a wall."
