They give peace and maybe joy. But as the awe and wonder settled within me, my gaze fell upon a figure below: the dragon prince himself. What was he doing here? Adam stood beside him and my panic gripped me anew. How furious would he be to see me riding his dragon? The world trembled. The dragon stretched its wings lazily. The movement darkened half the heavens. “I was having an excellent dream, actually.” The Sleepless One’s eyes narrowed. “YOU CANNOT INTERFERE.” The dragon looked genuinely surprised. Then it laughed. The sound echoed across mountains and seas. The dragons below shivered. Even the fracture itself seemed to tremble. Finally, the dragon stopped laughing. I turned to the first page and began to read. The first half of the book was mainly about the day-to-day life of the early days of the kingdoms.
