Scarlett (Second Edition)
Hugging Scarlett’s sweater was the only way I could find even a little peace, enough to let myself fall asleep.
The next morning, I woke with a jolt, feeling that gnawing urgency that wouldn’t let me rest. I freshened up quickly, surprised to find that Lucian had already been up, cleaned up, and was on his way to bring Elsa back. I could tell he was trying to make amends, to undo some of the damage we’d all contributed to. Part of me doubted he’d be able to fix things; the pain ran too deep, and only Scarlett had the power to truly heal this rift between us. Still, I wasn’t going to stop him from trying.
