Isabelle’s breath hitched. She knew exactly what that meant. “The garden,” she whispered. Michael frowned. “What garden?” “My mother had a favorite place—a hidden garden behind my childhood home. She used to call it ‘our secret dreamland.’” Carla raised an eyebrow. “So you think she hid the key there?”

“Then we’ll build a garden instead. A secret garden.” Her eyes widened slightly. “A secret garden?” I nodded. “But only you and I can know about it.
