We all went quiet. For a moment, the only sound was the thumping bass from the front of the bus and the low hum of tires on pavement.
Across from us, Damian, Matthew, Demetrius, Max, and Vincent sat huddled together. Focused, planning whatever came next. Making sure their whispers didn’t reach us.
