“Naomi!” A harsh scream broke into my conversation with Tyler. Snapping my head up, I saw Lorenzo heading my way. He wore a crumpled black jacket, his bandages showing from his sleeve. Gianna was right behind him. She strutted on her heels, tuning in to the drama.

I said, skipping any greeting. Cyber’s voice was calm but sharp. "Your suspicions were right. The people Layson was meeting? We formed an alliance to survive, but now we’re thriving. Because our alliance is made up of six packs, some people jokingly started referring to the collective as the ‘six-pack’ and the name stuck. Even though we call ourselves the six-pack and our interests are aligned, we remain six very separate packs, each with its own alpha. We each live in our own territories and have our own ways of life. The six alphas form a council of sorts when dealing with matters that affect the territories as a whole and its security, and the six-pack has a collective security squad. The squad is made up of the best fighters from each of the six packs and handles everything from major threats to routine border

It’s made of Pacts. "Lyra! Caelum! Nathaniel! Maya!" I called out. The six of us—the Queen, the Rebel, the Saint, the Logician, and the two Heirs—formed a circle on the bridge. We were the Six of the North. "We aren't fighting three brothers," I said, the Void-Blade turning from black-glass to a shimmering, translucent violet. "We are ending the cycle of the Five." We joined hands.

*Six's POV* The next day at lunch, Drew and Nate huff as they sit down. “Rough day?” I ask them. “Our front man fucking quit the band. And we have a show booked next weekend so we’re basically fucked,” Drew tells me. “Axle can sing,” I blurt out. I look at him and quickly add, “Sorry that just came out. Probably should have let you offer if you wanted to. No pressure.” “No, it’s fine. I didn’t know you guys were in a band.”

“I hope we meet again.” “Three was the first,” Six said as he stood. “I then became the second target, but I won that battle.” One of Jason’s brows rose. “You think it’s war?” “Whatever’s going on hasn’t stopped.” Six held out his hand. “There will be more. We need everyone together before they wipe us all out.” Jason nodded and shook his hand. “I’ll find them all.” With a curt nod, Six took my hand and we walked out the front door.

There was a dragon tattooed down his whole back. Looked so lifelike. I was half expecting it to start moving. My eyes trailed further down to his lower back, where the letters S.I.X were inscribed. So wait six isn't actually a number, but an acronym? He turned slightly, enough for me to get a view of his front, but not for him to see me standing there.
