She coughed out repeatedly with blood proceeding out of her mouth. He grinned, getting up from where he was, and walked away from her. She could finally breathe. Her hands adjusted her black hair that had already stuck to her face as a result of the blood and sweat present on it, tucking it behind her ears. Her training clothes were messed up with dust, sweat, and a little bit of blood. She looked up at him again as he walked away from her, but suddenly stopped and turned to look at her. "The most important rule of them all. Rule number 6" he spoke. "NEVER FALL IN LOVE"

Thunder pounds in the sky, and the loud reverberation shakes me to my senses. Pushing myself off him, I side-eye him, wiping my hands on my shorts. He looks away first, pulling himself up out of the mud. I head to my side of the truck and climb in. That was close, way too close. Seconds later he slips in behind the wheel. The radio plays Jake Owen's latest hit "Alone With You."

The assistant rolled her eyes, then nodded firmly. "That's right." Jessica's eyes lit up. She pushed through the crowd to stand before me. "Percy, you're here to invest, right?" Her eyes were filled with hope. But unfortunately, she was about to be disappointed. I looked at Jessica expressionlessly. "I'm here to withdraw my investment. I'm taking back the 500 thousand dollars I gave you when you started your company."

One evening on a weekend, I checked the time difference and FaceTimed my parents. Through the screen, Sasha took in my rosy complexion, her eyes crinkling with a smile. “Oh my, Naomi is having a blast there. I guess the breakup was the right decision.” I shared with them the photos of Iceland’s aurora and glaciers with a grin. After some small talk, my father sighed out of the blue. Something seemed to be on his mind. “What’s wrong, Dad?” Sasha set down her kitchen whisk and wiped her hands, her tone resigned. “What do you think? It’s about Lorenzo.”

I’m not mean,” he replied. “Never said you were,” I smirked, making Five chuckle while Six rolled his eyes. “Can I get your number?” Five asked, Six sent him an icy glare. “Sure,” I said, taking his phone. “What are you going to save my name as?” Five chuckled. “Why, it only makes sense that you become Six,” I giggled.

Like all those years I relentlessly thought of him meant nothing. Above all, was Declan's stature and frame. My goodness, just seeing Declan shirtless could make any woman's system go haywire. He was not exceptionally muscular with just about 8 pack abs or 16cm biceps. Perhaps it was just the way he carried himself, his charisma, his whole attitude has always been attractive to me. Like him or hate him, Declan Denning was a very charming man.

I gasp against his lips, my hands instinctively gripping his arms as I try to steady myself. When he pulls back, his eyes are alight with something fierce and certain. “See?
