He looked like a ghost, just staring, too shocked to cry. “I’m here, baby! Don’t move!” June called out, voice cracking. Between them, the floor was a mess—pipes jutting out, gaping holes everywhere. And right next to Leo stood Victor Vancent, brushing dust off his fancy suit, gun still in his hand. His face twisted with hate. “You tried to kill us all,” Victor spat, pointing the gun at her. His hand trembled. Above, something groaned, and a chunk of ceiling crashed down, missing him by inches. “Give me the salt, June. What is it? Tell me, or I’ll shoot.”

Then Victor finally raised his paddle. "Six million." His deep voice cut through the room effortlessly. Silence followed immediately. No one wanted to openly compete with the Alpha of the Moonshadow Pack unless they were looking for trouble. The MC beamed. "Six million going once!" My wolf shifted uneasily inside me. I shouldn't have cared, but the thought of Victor buying that crown for Laura still made something painful twist in my chest. "Six million going twice..." "Six million fifty thousand." Anderson's calm voice interrupted smoothly.

“If I didn’t know you better, I’d say you had feelings for the girl.” Six’s gaze narrowed. “But you do know me, or at least what I am.” “One of the true sociopaths of our little ragtag group.” “You aren’t one?” I asked. I’d assumed they were all a variety of psychotic. “Oh no, darling, I am. Six here just happens to be one of the most emotionless of us all. A great actor if he was able to woo you before he abducted you.” The cadence of his voice was almost lyrical. Smooth and transitioning, an almost feminine quality. Much different from Six’s monotone, masculine one, and somewhat out of place for a killer.

Stumbling out of my car, I shuffle into the Halo mansion and search for Tristan. He’s in the feeding room, feasting on a young nubile woman’s blood. My knees quiver, and my vision begins to fade with every step that I take. Vi, one of the vampire groupies, stops in front of me, swinging her clasped arms in front of her excitedly. “Hi, Rowan. Are you here for blood? I’m available.” Licking my dry lips, I stare at the ticking pulse in her neck, ready to pounce. Before I can respond, Tristan steps between us and faces Vi. “Not now, Vi. Rowan and I have something to talk about. Have Lee bring Rowan up a plasma bag.”

He then decided to call Big Al to enquire on the progress of the case. The call was answered in the first ring. “Big Al, what is the progress on the order I gave you?” A very nervous voice on the other end of the call answered. “Boss, I do not have good news. The drivers of the van that hit Miss Rachel were all found dead a few days after the accident. They had been shot point black in the head together as though they were together with the shooter.

I am going to die. I barely avoid a snap near my eye, but my quick thinking spared me. The beast bites into the rope near my wrist instead, and with a sharp movement I am able to free an arm without losing my grip with my elbows on the animal's throat. I jab its eye blindly with my freed forearm. It tips and snarls, and I rake it's eyes again and dig my fingers into it's throat just under it's jaw as I squeeze. DIE! Die you bastard.

How unfortunate! The hate her hazel eyes had for him infuriated him. Kevin wanted those eyes to have submission and fear rather than disgust and hatred. He could still feel the stinging sensation of her slap. Though physically it didn't hurt yet it was a tight slap on his ego, an insult to him that he was going to avenge.
