A Mistress' Affair
Nirvana followed, her arms curled into herself, not from the chill—not entirely—but from something heavier and quieter.
It was just past midnight and they had driven far beyond the city limits, the road behind them was long gone, swallowed by darkness and winding turns. The world disappeared behind a stretch of dark cliffs, no light, no signal, just open sky filled with stars scattered like dust above them and a sea that sounded alive and restless against the rocks beneath them.
Nirvana stood at the edge with Severin, and watched as waves crashed into the cliffs below in a rhythmical and eternal manner.
“Why here?” She asked, immersing herself in all of the different sounds around her.
