The storyline in this book takes place after the last chapter of my first vampire/crime/romance story originally written in 3rd person and published on another platform. This book is a standalone but if you want more context behind the main characters, I suggest you read "The Heir's Secret Obsession" (THSO) [the non-paranormal version, a rewrite] on this same profile.

I pause, looking over the young girl who has stopped me on my walk home from town, where I was looking for a job. She holds a small red book, scuffed at the edges with gold writing stitched into the cover. Her soft features suggest she is a native to the Golden Province. Nervously, she regards me, trying to muster up some confidence. Something about this facade is eerily familiar... "Excuse me ma'am," she says, flipping her book open to show me a picture of what looks to be some kind of water dwelling creature, although the picture is faded, suggesting this book was handed down to her. "Can I tell you about my Tani?"

He recomposed himself and took a few steps in front of us. “And what makes you think you may make such a claim? By all accounts, you seem to be a Lycan rogue and your mother a thief. That stone is passed down from generation to generation, from alphas to their heirs. It was stolen from us many moons ago.” He looked over at me and the others behind with an arrogant expression. “It’s the equivalent of a crown since it was a gift from the Moon Goddess herself.” He said to us to explain it so we could understand its importance. His words made me pause.

Mikhail should have just come forward in the beginning with the letters and demanded the jewels be returned to him, but the stupid, stubborn man hadn't thought that through. No, he'd just acted on his emotions, stolen his treasure back, and kidnapped her.
