Mother and son are already going at it like monkeys, and you got some backstory as to how it all began in the form of memories during one of Chelsea's and Jimmy's many sex sessions. I know this story was a bit of a mess jumping between the past and the present, and might have been jarring, but that was how it played out in my head, so, it's what you got. If there is a continuation of this story, which there probably will be, there won't be nearly as much jumping back and forth since you already have the background now for how Jimmy and Chelsea started their relationship.
