The Warrior Heart Novels & Stories

Meanwhile, at the center of the group , a harsh battle was about to begin. The representative of the Alpha Calhoun's pack charged undisputed toward the center of the enemy troops. His rank 4 body was unmatched in that environment and he swung his greatsword freely, making a way toward their middle. Aldophus ducked while switching to his primal form, seeing the hooded cultivator getting close but Lane promptly moved in front of him. "I will handle him, don't worry young master." He spoke, fixing his gaze on the incoming warrior. The representative didn't waste time, he swung vertically his big sword toward Lane.

The other two wolves have finally managed to get over here, and they pushed him off me, they attacked him, they left bloody marks over each other since they drew first blood from me, they went frantic, they went crazy, and they were ready to kill each other. I looked at them with fear filling my eyes, I was in pain, but the pain wasn't the worst thing that was going on, it wasn't my arm that was hurting, it was my heart that was aching, how could my three souls be fighting with each other, my heart was attacking itself, darkness, and pain were filling my head then.

Our warriors had come and were chasing after the rogues. I moved quickly to check on her. I wish I knew her name. She was unconscious on the floor, but I could hear her heart. I turned her over, and I swear I wanted to kill Gunner all over again. Her beautiful face was bruising. I wanted to carry her, but I was plastered in rogues blood. Another warrior offered to carry her when he was passing me a pair of pants, but my eyes flashed. There was no way Cobalt was letting anyone else carry her. Another warrior gave me a bottle of water to clean some of the blood on my body, and only then I lifted her from the floor in my arms.

I tried to speak, to ask – but no sound came out. “I have watched you suffer.” Something inside me flinched. “Suffering can break… or it can forge.” The words settled deep, heavier than any strike I had taken. The light around the Heart pulsed once. “A war is coming. The wolf nation will need a representative. Not an Alpha. Not a warrior.” The wind stilled. Even the grass stopped moving. “A heart.” I reached for it – And everything shattered. I woke with a gasp, sitting upright so fast my head spun. The darkness of the basement rushed back around me, thick and suffocating. My chest rose too quickly, my breath uneven.

"Ryan, you shattered my life, and you still think you can just walk away? Someone like you is a waste of air. You would be better off dead." The knife in my hand flashed under the sunlight. I ached to plunge it straight into his chest. At the final moment, a strong hand clamped around my wrist and stopped me. My father had arrived. His usually expressionless face was filled with panic. "Thank God I made it in time. Do you even know what you are doing? Are you going to destroy the rest of your life for him?" Ryan felt the killing intent in me. He had not expected to survive. He collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath, all dignity gone.

Instantly, I grabbed the nearest warrior and pulled him directly in front of me… the sword pierced into him as his body went limp. I shoved him aside and stared at the warrior who had just attacked him. His expression was frozen in horror. I didn't give him time to recover; I stepped forward and slammed my fist into his face, he crashed to the ground. “Lisa.” Kael's voice cut through the chaos. I turned slightly. “Six minutes remaining.” My eyes widened. Six minutes? I glanced around. Three warriors were still standing. But as soon as they heard Kael's warning, two of the warriors who had fallen began forcing themselves back onto their feet.

I taught shielding techniques to Jarrik, the boy who lost his family; mindfulness breathing to Lina so her fear wouldn’t freeze her blade; and footwork to Tomas, whose curiosity outpaced his strength. During a break, they sat with me under the old oak. I passed around flasks of water. “A warrior is not just muscle,” I said. “It’s heart. It’s mind. It’s trusting yourself enough to stand when everything tells you to run.” They nodded, absorbing each word. The air hummed with new resolve. One evening, as the sun sank behind the eastern ridge, I finished lessons early. The yard was silent. I returned to the palisade, scanning the borders before midnight. That’s when I heard soft footsteps beyond

Garreth won't even know we're looking, as I was thousands of kilometers away. The sound of a metallic voice broke me out of my thoughts. “one minute down, the second warrior activated” I nervously waited to see what the announcement was for. But my heart sank as another warrior came to life, with his fiery red orbs in place of eyes. It pointed at me with his sword. “Prove thy worth, stinking deserter," and together with the first, they came charging . I was helpless and didn't know what to do. My heart pounded in my chest like a talking drum. There was no way to escape. And they were approaching where I was very fast.

My heart skipped a beat, my tears moist right then. I dropped to a crouch and held him, pressing my ear against his chest again. I could hear his heartbeat, thumping powerfully through his thin shirt. It was such a familiar sensation. It was Stan's heartbeat. As I closed my eyes, my tears flowed ever so quietly. We stayed like that for a while, and as I wiped my tears, I held Nathan firmly in my arms once more. "Please live a good life with Stan's heart." - Nathan walked with me to the gates of the orphanage, but I never once turned to look at him again.

"Mr. Gardner, should we remove this woman? She seems mentally unstable and keeps insisting she's your wife." There was another pause on Matthew's end, and when he finally spoke, his voice was as cold as ice. "My wife is Meghan Landry. She is currently tending to our son, Taylor. I… don't have a daughter." The crowd seemed relieved, their gazes turning even more contemptuous toward Danielle. Meghan let out a cold laugh and hurled the bag of RH-negative blood onto the floor in front of Danielle. "That illegitimate child of yours isn't worthy of this blood."
