The Werewolf's Bride
Kael broke free, reaching her, shielding her with his body.
Veyr laughed, blood dripping from his jaws.
“You bleed,” he said. “And your child waits.”
He lunged, aiming for the inner door.
Elara surged, pain forgotten, placing herself between Veyr and the crypt.
Her claws sank into his chest, deep, twisting.
He gasped, red eyes widening.
Then, slowly, smiled.
“You cannot stop what is coming,” he whispered.
He collapsed, dead.
The Eclipse wolves faltered, leaderless, beginning to retreat.
