A slow, condescending smile curved her lips as she looked down at me, her eyes dripping with sheer contempt. "You really believe you're playing the devoted mother now, don't you, Abigail?" Vienna purred, her voice dropping into a dangerous, weaponized whisper. "It’s tragic, really. You wake up with a blank brain, put on a sweet little smile, and pretend the last ten years never happened." "I am her mother," I declared fiercely, holding my ground. "And I am Liam's wife." Vienna let out a sharp, mocking laugh that echoed off the high ceilings. "Wife? You are a temporary glitch in the system, Abigail. A broken woman living on borrowed time. You need to step back and stay away from Liam before y

Richard was still trying to hold back his patience, he didn’t say in a high tone. “But still I don’t allow this woman to live here, please respect me as your first wife who occupies this house first. At least think a little about how I feel, Richard!” she snapped. “You and Camellia are my wives, there is no first or second wife, you two are the same. After all, this house is mine, so it’s up to me who to bring to this house. Please don’t make me angry, I’ve tried to talk nicely to you,” said Richard with emphasis.

I was about to leave when the woman spoke. "You must be... Magnus's wife, right?" I stopped, once blinking emphatically. I swallowed again and prepared myself to face the woman who is the reason for my husband's and I's quarrel, and the cause of my enviousness. What now if I'm the wife? What's wrong with that? I am still the original. I was the only one he got married to. I am the one he loves and I am the only one who stands. I'm the legal wife. “Yes, I am his wife. The only, Mrs. Wellington.” my high-brow answer.

I am dumbstruck as I stare at his expressionless face. I back away from him slightly, furrowing my brows as I give him a perplexed look. “I don’t mean to be insensitive but I’m failing to see how her health status has got anything to do with me. I am your wife, Klein. If there’s an accident, which there was, you are supposed to rush to check on me first, not your friend regardless of the fact that she just recently had a liver transplant. I’m supposed to be your priority! I come first because I am your wife!” I say, enunciating every word.

"That cake is for Ashton. Why did you take it without asking?" "Oh my, Mrs. Anggia. Everywhere, whatever belongs to a husband automatically becomes the wife's. If this cake is for Mr. Ashton, then it's no problem for me to taste it too. After all, I am his wife," Alice emphasized the word 'wife' directly in front of Anggia to make her realize not to keep trying to tempt her husband. "Besides, why are you so persistent in bothering another woman's husband? Mrs. Anggia, aren't you available or something?"

I shouted. “Its Jana!” My eyes widen when I saw my wife at the door. "Wife!" "Hi there husband." She said then smirked

"After God, fear women" Claire was dumbstruck. It could not be. Nathan had just married his competitor and she had nothing to say about it. The dinner was about to commence so she had plenty of time to prove Bianca was a fraud. Wrong! She had very little time and she remaining glued to her seat was not going to change anything. Claire stood up and joined the new wife, her suspicion making her unable to keep a smile.

"Who are you calling the other woman? Anna is my wife. She was the one I married." Wilson moved to stand by me, his hand finding my shoulder. "Rowena, enough with the drama, okay?" It was a relief to hear him defend me, but the way he scolded Rowena, trying to hold back his anger, it still felt like he was taking sides. Suddenly, he seemed like a stranger to me. Maybe the love we had was just a mirage, nothing more than the sweet phase every couple goes through at the start. "What did you just say?" Rowena was even more shocked by Wilson's declaration than by the slap. Her eyes were huge as she pointed at me, her voice shaking. "You say she's your wife? Then what am I? We're married!"

Then a headline caught her eye: Power Married Couple: Gabriel and Andrea Reyes on Work-Life Balance. She repeated the words, voice dead and hollow, “Power Married couple.” Her chest tightened, a thousand questions surging but none dared to escape. How long? Why hide? Who was she to him really, and what the fuck it is, A wife?! ~ The bathroom door clicked shut behind her. She stared at the reflection. Her eyes red, swollen from tears she hadn’t allowed until now. The face looking back at her was cracked, fragile. “You’re my only one,” she whispered, the memory slicing through her.

“Because you need to know what kind of man you’re tied to. He promised me a life. He promised me everything. And I gave him a child. But fate took it from me. I was his first wife. His real wife.” Ethan’s fists shook. “You were never my wife. We were engaged, yes, but we never married. And you…His voice dropped low. “You were never pregnant.” Jessica gasped as if he had slapped her. “Don’t you dare!” Her anger filled the room, sharp and choking. She stepped closer, pointing her finger at him. “Don’t you dare erase me. I was here before Olivia. I had you first. You belonged to me.” Olivia flinched at the venom in her tone. She had seen jealousy before, but this was something darker, something
