If only she could manage to catch a glimpse of the face that was shadowed by the hoodie. As if on cue, the hoodie guy moved his hand, pointing his index finger at her in a warning gesture that she should look away. Her heart almost leaped out of her chest. She snapped her eyes and looked straight forward, not moving her head until the bus stopped at its final destination, which was her stop. Thomas estate, Aja. She hurried out of the bus, muttering 'sorry' to the people she shuffled past.

She moved away, going back to sit on the floor with her legs crossed beneath her. A pungent smell hung in the air and the goosebumps returned to my skin. I could hear her doing a chant, and the hut immediately seemed creepier than before. When she opened her eyes, her eyeballs were white, an indication that she was having a vision, and a lone tear dropped from her left eye.

Jeong’s POV I cant believe I got caught up looking at her eyes, what’s wrong with me. I can’t help but watch her, she’s not going to fall again is she? Seeing her make it to the bottom and look up at me had my mind at ease. I head back up the stairs before I let the chain ropes go. Looking around I can see the men all excited watching the women strip down and wash. I see Zviad gripping the railing grinning as he watches her.

Yet, despite his promises, the very last thing my eyes saw was him personally taking them away. No anesthesia or painkillers were used. Immense pain came from my eyes, my hands, and even my belly, either of them enough to make anyone faint from the pain. But at that moment, I could clearly sense that none of them compared to the pain in my heart. I realized that, in the end, Samuel no longer wanted me by his side. I eventually passed out from the pain. I had thought that my suffering would finally come to an end. But reality was cruel, and I once again woke up in agony.

"Let's return to our country." Just like that, Marcus and I secretly returned to our country. After dropping him off at Lambert Manor, I headed to Lucy's place right away. Her eyes was red and she was brimming with tension. He was her husband. I walked to Grandmother Rua and I held one of her hands. Mama Liz held her other hand gently. She felt like a living zombie. Her eyes would turn glassy occasionally as we walked to the waiting room. I looked at Grandmother Rua, "Grandpa Theo will be fine. God blesses those who do good. He will be fine." The mood and atmosphere around us was dark and dreary but we kept comforting Grandmother Rua.
