Flowers Are Bait Chapter 20 Novels & Stories

All of a sudden, Thomas was brainstorming and thinking about all the possibilities. Lewis stood at the side and waited silently without saying a word. He had been with Thomas for a long time, so he knew of Thomas’s habits. He must not disturb Thomas’s thinking at this moment. About twenty minutes later, Thomas finished brainstorming. He calmly said, “Flowers are both antidote and poison. Someone uses flowers to make Heart Eater control the entire Celandine City. At the same time, he uses flowers to make an antidote to ensure that these controlled people won’t die.

A single flower slowly bloomed upon the water's surface. Five petals unfolded. Silver. Gold. Blue. Green. And at the center... A brilliant white blossom opened. The Rootkeeper whispered with quiet joy, "The Fifth Dawn has found its color." Before Ama could ask what the white blossom meant... The flower released one glowing seed into the air. It floated upward. Passing through the ceiling of living roots. Rising toward the world above. And somewhere beneath the emerald sky... A child made a choice that would change everything.

The sound cut through everything. Flora froze. Her smile faded instantly. Lily didn’t notice. “Wait…look at this one,” she said, reaching for another sample. But Flora wasn’t listening anymore. Her heart had already started racing. Slowly… carefully… She reached for her phone. Unknown number. Her stomach dropped. It was back. Her fingers felt cold as she opened the message. A picture loaded. Flora’s breath caught. It was an invitation card to The Binding Feast. Her grip tightened around the phone as Lily still kept talking

"Imagine, getting married to me at the ceremony your girlfriend planned. It's like she's part of it too. Exciting, isn't it?" Frank paused for a long time before he finally agreed. Then, my manuscript went missing. I watched Frank, who had grabbed my phone but could not seem to shut it off, his hands shaking. The revulsion I had felt before surged back. With a taste for revenge, I asked, "Can you even grasp how all this makes me feel?" Frank's eyes were filled with a desperate plea as he shook his head. "You disgust me," I said flatly. I had intentionally given him the crystal ball, and the card was no accident either.

Tatum’s POV I left them in silence, my steps heavy as I made my way down the hidden corridor deep beneath my home. My heart thudded in my chest, each beat echoing like a reminder of the vow I was about to break. The words I’d told them about the flower weren’t a complete lie. The fire had been real, and after today, the flower would become nothing but a fairytale. I could still smell the smoke in my memory, thick and choking, as the flames tore through our lands. We’d fought with everything we had to save our home and the sacred life flowers we’d sworn to protect, but the fire was too strong, devouring everything in its path.

Electricity coursing through the entire plains like a shockwave beyond imagination. A ripple leaves my throat. Human. Monster. Contorting and distorting as my consciousness is overtaken. Then it all piques. A single place. A single moment in time. A garden. The chirping of birds. The scent of citrus. The warm air. I hear a voice. “Our pact. Our contribution to humanity…” Who is that? What is this? “...the Arbin Flowers. And he will be the map.”

"The astrologer said, as soon as you sign here, your stars will immediately align with Charlie's. You… You have to sign… Please." I took the pen without hesitation and signed my name. As I finished the final stroke and lifted my gaze, I met Adrian's venomous gaze. I could see it clearly now—the signs of his decline were written on his face, darker and more defined than ever before. "Claire… Milton… You bitch, how dare you betray me!" he roared. He was about to lunge at me when his body suddenly froze. He clutched his chest, and his face contorted in agony. Then, he coughed up a torrent of crimson blood.

She licked a silver petal and the petal shuddered. The entire flower field shivered like one giant organism and I froze again. “Okay,” I whispered. “We are leaving. This is above our pay grade. This is above EVERYONE’S pay grade.” Blue looked at me, head tilted innocently, then sneezed a puff of pale smoke. The smoke drifted over the flower she licked… and the petal instantly curled inward, glowing faintly. The light in my hand flickered and something answered. The ground vibrated softly under my boots, almost like footsteps but too many, too soft, too fast.

I challenged. Bryan looked stunned. “I can't see the mate bond thread. Can you?” he asked urgently. I shook my head, confirming that I could see it. Bryan stood there, processing this new reality. “It seems Flora has broken the mate bond with me and chosen you,” Bryan said, his voice tinged with sadness. The resignation in his tone was unmistakable, reflecting a mix of loss and acceptance.
