I didn't totally understand all the stuff at the end of the story, but I did understand that both of the main characters freaking died. "They're both... dead?" I whimper as tears well up in my eyes. "That's not how fairy tales are supposed to go." My gran gathers me up in her arms, smoothing down my hair, kissing me on the crown of my head. "There, there. I'm sorry my sweet.
