He refused to let her presence get to him. To say he no longer had feelings for her would be an understatement, he hated her. And his hate was justified. She had betrayed him in the worst way, making him live a lie, pretending she loved him when, in reality, it had all been fake. He hated her for that more than anything.

He had been drowning from holding back the truth for long. "You had no right to hurt me the way you did. You had no right to say what truth I could bear or not! I deserved to know why you rejected me," I said. I didn't even know how to react; I simply followed my raw feelings. "All these years, you're telling me that I've hated you for nothing?" My chest constricted more painfully as I thought about all the lost years and unnecessary bitterness. "It was better hating me," he said, and my lips parted in disbelief.
