CONCURRENTLY… A block away from Hannah’s apartment, Xander stopped his car as a barricade was placed. He held the steering wheel tightly when he saw the raging fire ahead and, from the corner of his eyes, he caught a glimpse of the firefighters and paramedics. He could see the homeowners trying their best to make sure the fire wouldn’t come to their homes. They let their sprinklers on while hosing their house with water. While others who were not so lucky tried to save anything they could. Furniture. Appliances. Clothes. Anything that they could carry was now scattered on the lawn.

Several guards came rushing to the storage house with one of the ministers. "No, no, no!" the minister yelled in despair as he watched the storage being eaten by fire. He was about to check on his collection but suddenly found his storage on fire. The weapons he tried so hard to collect in secret were inside the storage and if the fire was not put out immediately, they'd be damaged. Plus, it would be discovered since everyone thought that it was storage of woods, not illegally acquired weapons.

I blurted out. While we were still conversing, we saw troops of fire fighters march into the building to put off the fire. Finally, my mind was at rest because the fire didn't damage a lot of things. Everything was still intact apart from some irrelevant files that got burnt. I breathed a sigh of relief after the fire fighters had confirmed everything and had done their work. I had to thank them specially because they had saved my business and my life. The project I was working on was a huge one and I could not afford to lose things to fire.

I said with my voice slightly higher. “Because the same abuser also risked his life to save me from dying in the fire. He didn't think of his own life when he jumped into the flames to save me. Fire raged like a red tsunami all around them from the highly flammable liquid cleverly hidden along the room. The heat was searing, flames licking wide and high. The couple of warriors that had heard the warning in time were saved, but a few got caught in the fire, and they ran about in panic, with flames dancing off their backs.. “Shit!” Someone cursed tensely. “What do we do!
