I stretched my legs and a moan escaped my lips due to how comfortable it felt. I immediately covered my mouth in embarrassment and peeked at Sebastian who soon released a loud chuckle, making me blush in embarrassment. I exhaled deeply and looked up before closing my eyes firmly. I feel like a piece of me has been stolen, and I don't know how to reclaim it. I could feel my throat getting dry, so I opened my eyes and headed into the kitchen while scratching my head to fetch some cool water to relieve my thirst. I could hear the sound of drinking water from my throat. I drink more than ten glasses, yet it does not satisfy my thirst. I cleaned my lips with the back of my palm before slamming the glass against the counter sink. I can't believe it didn't help.

I hissed, my chest heaving with a mixture of rage and longing. His blood—sweet, spicy, and crackling with electric power—called to me like a siren’s song, wrapping around my senses and pulling me in. My stomach clenched painfully with hunger pangs—a deep, gnawing emptiness that made my throat feel like sandpaper, parched with an insatiable thirst. Maybe I should take a sip?

Ava blinked, staring at her like she was a weirdo. Which she was. Suddenly, Elvie felt very tired and very hungry—like the air was dense with misery and soaked with toxins. Every breath was lethal. She grabbed Gerald’s Bacardi and tossed it back in one gulp, then slammed it against the bar. “My headache is getting out of control. I’m going to the restroom to wash my face and pop some Advils. Be right back.”

He tenderly sucked it dry, his cold tongue wrapping around the wounded digit. Fuck. It was more than heaven. Better than anything he had tasted before. Better than her blood in a wine flute mixed with jasmine leaves. He wanted to suck on it more. Wanted to draw out as much blood as he can but he held back. He, despite his hunger-stricken state, fucking held back.

I confirmed. " Don't worry Mamma! We just dealt with them. But we can't leave without Braze. He is somewhere here. We need to get to him. But...." She adjusted her collar as if she was having difficulty breathing. " But I am so thirsty Mamma. It's like my organ are drying up. I need something... I need something to drink. " I saw the veins on her body slithering as she tried scratching it. I knew this thirst. I understood what she was craving. It was a bequest from her damned father. A curse running in her vein.

The warmth soothes my throat like hot cocoa on a bitter winter night. "Okay, that's enough, Hazel." She tries to pull away, but I grip tighter. I am so damn thirsty. She's finally able to snatch her arm away. A primal growl bubbles up from my chest as I feel a rage course through me. My skin is itching and my vision is blurring. I can still feel the fire in my veins.
