Thirty days to forever

Thirty days to forever

I doubt death changed his methods much. I read it a fourth time anyway, at my desk, with the city going dark orange outside my window and my father's old shipping charts still bolted to the wall behind me because I've never gotten around to taking them down. Thirty days. One marriage. One year, uninterrupted, or the whole empire slides sideways into the cousin's lap. It's the kind of clause a sentimental old man writes when he's dying and wants a story out of his granddaughter's life instead of a balance sheet. It's also, if I'm being honest with myself, the kind of gift I have not been handed in a very long time.

The Ninth Cipher

The Ninth Cipher

he whispered. "...because blood remembers." Lucien smiled for the first time since entering the library. "Now you're asking the right questions." Adrian barely heard him. His attention had shifted to another shelf. Hundreds of journals stood in perfect order. Each spine carried nothing except a year. 1348. 1349. 1350. 1351. 1352. 1353 Years that historians associated with plague, war, conquest, or catastrophe. He pulled one volume halfway from the shelf. "Why these years?" Elias didn't stop him.

A Way To Survive

A Way To Survive

"Is this the book you want?" "That's it." Uri happily replied. "Just when I couldn't think of a way to read it, someone stole it." "Fortunately, so let's see what's inside this book." Finn began to turn the pages. Although the ancient script was difficult to read, Uri and Finn understood it. This book recounts the war between humans and demons three thousand years ago. Then Genesis drove the demons back to their dark world, and humans became the masters of the earth. "This is the war between the humans and us; they call us the devil." Finn looked at the words on the golden page and was annoyed.

The Alpha's Cursed Bride

The Alpha's Cursed Bride

"Thirty years. Think of what that produces." "Yes," he said simply. "Think of it." We both did. For a long time. In the library in the quiet of the afternoon, with the accord signal warm in everything around us and the bond-network carrying what it always carried and the founding philosophy working, as it had always worked, through the specific choices of specific wolves who had decided to mean what they did. Kaer was coming in the spring. And in the territory to the north, thirty years of different governance were beginning.

Rejecting My Lycan Mate

Rejecting My Lycan Mate

“No. She loves the story as much as I do.” “Yeah, right,” Will mumbled as he looked back down at the papers in his hand. He had a smirk on his face. “I am serious,” I said, making him look back up at me. “She has a history book about it. She knows a lot about the Great War.” “Then she really is your mate,” Will chuckled. “I’ve never met a person as fascinated by that story as you.” He was right. I was a bit of a nerd when it came to history and the story of Three Kingdoms was one of my favorites.

The Don's Daughter

The Don's Daughter

VITTORIA’S POV Three days before the wedding, I was sitting in the library. Not hiding. Not lurking. Sitting, comfortably, curled into one of the leather lounge chairs with a book resting open in my hands. The Art of War. Sun Tzu had lived and died long before men like Nikolai De Luca ever learned to call themselves kings, but strategy never aged. Power never changed. Only the pieces on the board did. I liked ancient warfare texts. They were honest. They didn’t pretend victory came from morality or mercy. They understood what most people refused to admit, wars were won before the first blow was struck.

I also prayed earnestly that he didn’t forget me here. I spotted a bookshelf at the far end of the room and decided to look through it in hopes of finding something to read. The majority of the books were about werewolves and the pack’s history. There were also books about politics, war, and governance. I would have loved to pick up the book that contained information on all members of the Crescent Moon Pack, but I decided against it. It would seem like snooping. I finally settled on a book titled ‘The Art of War.’ Not that I was a fan of violence but I was curious to know why the author had referred to war as an art. It was such a controversial claim.

The only other answer is that he has gone soft and is doing this for me… Impossible. I take a deep breath and put the notebook aside, it won't be productive to continue like this. Our route will probably be re-established, even so, it is good to check our destination. I look more closely at my room, it must be somewhere in here. On the back wall beside the door, there was a bookshelf. I approach it and examined the books better until I found what I was looking for. “Book of record of the activities of noble houses and affiliates in Europe (1708-1713)”, the newest volume imported from England. This book was my only condition for accepting the king's decree, a well-used opportunity. But back t

The story is incredible for any fan of fantasy and adventure. The begin is a little slow but if you be patience you will be rewarded! A story that recalls many famous fantasies and of course books, fairy tales.

Faking the Mate Bond

Faking the Mate Bond

Every glowing red book on Serith’s bookshelf represented the Serithian wars that had been fought over all these centuries. Blank pages and words that wrote our accursed fates to lift a curse ages old. Sixty wars were written by sixty different Messiahs and Saints, but the rest six were for us to write. Every pale book between the red books were the records of a time period that existed between two Serithian wars. My sixth war ended today, the sixty-sixth book should end today. I walked beside Zephyr, who was peering at the sixty-sixth book. It was opened at its last blank page, but words weren’t appearing on it.

The Darkest Temptation

The Darkest Temptation

I just found where I'm going to spend the rest of my time while Keo is absent. I spend at least half an hour inspecting as many books as possible before one piques my interest. It's particularly old, written over a century ago. By the looks of it, it details some Angel-blood history regarding Demon's. Lugging the book upstairs, I lay it on my bed, flipping the cover open. I take my time scanning the small text, learning about the war, about Angel's depiction of Demon's. It's rough, hearing how they detail the mass death's, and how they justify it.
