Hank was truly burning. Their screams pierced the sterile air, jolting the staff into wide-eyed alarm. Evelyn hammered the furnace door with frantic fists. Laura latched onto a worker's sleeve. I had planned this all on the spur of the moment anyways, so it wasn’t like I had a strict itinerary or anything. Arriving at the ATM, I must wait in line for a few minutes while this couple in front of me stands there arguing with each other. He is getting so mad over something that he looks like he is about to strike her, so I continue to watch them and note that the ATM becomes available. Butting in, I say, “I do believe it is your turn.” Then gesture for the man and woman to walk forward so they can use it and hopefully stop their fighting before it becomes more violent.

But now we have ammunition. Now we have proof. Now we fight back. And maybe, just maybe, we win.

Timika Today is Finals Day. We have been into it for a while, and today the energy seems more relaxed, but focused. Today is the day to rise to the challenge, and each pack sticks together for support. Less friendly smiles, and more competitive looks and smirks are given, now that it’s officially on.

I watched as he hit the ground three times. A cheer so loud it made the ground shake a little, rose up from around us. Every wolf in the building ended up watching us fight. I wished suddenly the challenge hadn't been so hectic. We drew too much attention. Then I turned and held my hand out for the ex-champion. For a moment I was afraid he wouldn't take it. Fighting, even if it was friendly, often led to grudges. But his hand clasped mine and I pulled him up. The boy kept his grasp on my hand, then he hoisted it up and another cheer rose vibrant and deafening around us.
