But I watched as he smiled at me, his lips forming the same three all-important words back to me, before the light left his eyes and his heart stopped pumping.
I do not know how long I sat there, holding him. Someone came and placed a blanket around my naked body and forced me to stand, letting him go; and that was it, the last of my strength. As I feel forward into darkness, I heard the words that tore what was left of my heart to pieces.
“Galden too?! We just lost Neil as well, how will she come back from this.”
And I fell, straight into the darkness in my soul as it spread to my heart.
