Beatrice Beecham's Cryptic Crypt

Beatrice Beecham's Cryptic Crypt

And on this door was a stencilled black eagle clutching a wreath-enclosed Swastika. Frobisher and his henchmen shoved past Miller and Elmo in their haste to get to the door. Frobisher placed his palm against the metal, his grin broad; a crocodile smiling at something that has fallen, struggling and helpless, into its watery domain. ‘Opening this door will release the past,’ he said. ‘It will make things right’ And with that he pushed down the handle, dragging open the door that screamed on its hinges as though in protest of the travesty about to be imposed upon the world.

When Forbidden Feels This Good

When Forbidden Feels This Good

Scarlett’s POV. I was already moving. Threw myself backward through the secret panel, hands finding the door and slamming it shut with a sound like thunder. The lock mechanism engaged automatically, ancient gears grinding into place. On the other side, fists immediately started pounding. Shouting. The sound of someone throwing their entire body weight against the door. But it held. Three-hundred-year-old Florentine engineering, designed to hide priceless art from invading armies. It would hold against Silvio's thugs.

I was so lost that it was bringing back the horrible childhood memories of getting lost in the maze of mirrors at the county festival that came to town every year. We finally came up to these huge double doors. They looked to be made of red oak, with very intricate details carved into them. One door had what looked to be demons and the other door had what looked like angels or goddess on it. Both looking at each other like they were charging at each other, getting ready for a battle.

Great read! Especially for a new author. Interesting story that kept me engaged. Loved the slow introduction of characters that allowed me to get to know each one. However, if you are looking for steamy bedroom scenes, you will find this lacking.

The Devil's Obsession

The Devil's Obsession

The door answered with a warmth that was not her own ember but was built from the same material — deeper, older, a fire that had been burning for six centuries in a sealed room and had not gone out. "He knows who you are," Lyra said from behind her. Her voice was very quiet. "He's known since the seal went up and you were made." "Tell me how to do this safely," Aurora said to Seraphine. "Tell me how to open it so his inner walls hold." Seraphine came to stand beside her. "When the door opens, the first thing that will try to come through is the pressure differential — six hundred years of a realm expanding against

Hunting for Midnight

Hunting for Midnight

Devoid of any actual plants except for dead scraggly weeds, the planters are cracked and crumbling with age I observe, illuminating them with my headlamp. Halting in front of the massive arched doorway deeply recessed into an arched chiseled stone alcove, I raised my eyes to the top, guesstimating the doors were easily ten feet in height. The door knock is a snarling twisted horned gargoyle's head. My gaze lowers and my awe instantly sours to irritation with an audible groan at the sight of the obnoxiously heavy chains wrapped through the iron ring hand pulls on the door. Secured tight with a massive rusty padlock that looks to be a hundred years old and unlocks with not one, but two differe

A journey to Elysium

A journey to Elysium

He rose the inkpot near to his eyes examining in against the light, where it was unbelievable for them to accept the presence of ink in it over the years of being kept open, as giving any reason about it certainly out of logic now. They could hear their hearts pounding in their ears to make themselves believe about the presence of someone over there, under the grounds, using that room regularly and dwelling there as a permanent resident of that place, meanwhile, the door was closed shut for longer than several decades, owing to the evident condition of the door, that it was hollow and eaten away by termites and withered with time, certainly giving the proof of not being in use. THE DOOR

THE DOOR

They were so confident that the universe would bend to their will as the stock market always had. But the Door was not a machine you could force. It had a will. It had a memory. It was an ancient, intelligent phenomenon that had waited a hundred years for the King and his General. It had accepted the raw Uwezo and the emotional Hekima it required to bridge the dimensions. It had no need for parasites. It had no tolerance for the small-minded men who built cages of glass and steel to hide from the rain. Just as the first man’s fingertips—a billionaire with manicured nails and a frantic scream on his lips—brushed the violet surface, the Door blinked.

Apocalypse Temple: I Rebuilt the Underworld with Incense

Apocalypse Temple: I Rebuilt the Underworld with Incense

A door that would not open. The next trouble came through the side door, where bad news usually entered. In the First Gate, symbols had weight. It stained sleeves, cracked floors, moved through crowds, and made ordinary people choose sides before they understood the question. The freeway dust pressed against every window while paper wings marked the next turn of the case. Nothing about the Final Gate War felt clean. It felt like another emergency arriving before the last one had been wiped off the stones. A prayer no one answered. A voice below the floor saying, Be my hinge and you will not disappear.

Once a Doormat, Now Untouchable

Once a Doormat, Now Untouchable

Julian's reply came instantly. Brother: [Do I need to come get you?] Even through the screen, she felt the cold, unyielding edge in his tone. Afraid he might actually appear at her door, she dropped her tablet, grabbed her phone, and hurried out. Standing at his door, she hadn't even reached for the bell when another message appeared. Brother: [902079. Let yourself in.] It was the code for the door. For a moment, she froze as her mind leapt. Was it the same way Charlotte had gotten his code? Was she just one of many women who knew it?

so far I love how strong Sydney is and all she needs now is the devoted man to make everything else set in stone. she doesn't need a man but her having one completely devoted to her will make this story perfect, but it is really good so far.

This book needs to pick up speed. One chapter a day is slow to say the least. Not to mention that new story lines are constantly being added without completely ending older stories and developed characters seem to disappear. Is this an author issue or an app issue to secure reader subscriptions?

Supreme Emperor of Swords

Supreme Emperor of Swords

It didn't seem to be a natural thing at all, but was artificially crafted. Of course, this was not the reason why Ding Hao felt so shocked. What really shocked him was that on this smooth mirror-like ground, six Huge Bluestone Doors were standing quietly. Each door was more than ten meters high, simple and ancient, with a rough rock texture, as if being washed by running water for countless years. The mottled surface had vaguely painted marks, but Ding Hao couldn't see what it was. Every door was slightly open, with a strong and manic purple aura rushing from the crack of the door.
