Three Little Kittens Poem Novels & Stories

Gently pushing it open, I peered inside and saw a small, black kitten curled up on the floor. My heart melted at the sight. The kitten was absolutely adorable, its glossy fur gleaming under the soft light filtering through the room. Unable to resist, I stepped inside and knelt down, reaching out a hand to the tiny creature. The kitten looked up at me with wide, curious eyes before rubbing its head against my hand, purring softly. “Hey there, little one,” I whispered, smiling as I gently scratched behind its ears. The kitten responded by playfully swatting at my fingers, making me laugh.

The ugliest part of myself that terribly wanted to kill the pest at my feet. He already signed his destruction warrant by calling my kitten a downgrade. I should just kill him off right now. Static screeches through my mind, until a different voice breaks through. “Nile!” It’s my little sister. I turn to see her holding a half-conscious Dymond up, sporting an urgent and horrified look on her face.

“Be quiet. Come look.” Trembling, she came forward until she stood beside me. The moment she saw what was there, her shoulders relaxed and the fear left her face. A white mother cat was curled up comfortably in a pile of soft blankets and old cushions, protectively wrapped around her three tiny kittens. They were all fast asleep, the little ones tucked tightly against their mother’s belly. One of the boxes must have tipped over and spilled the toys across the floor. Zara dropped to her knees, staring at them. Tears still shone in her eyes, but now she was smiling softly.

It was famished, as was every other animal in the world. The trio watched smilingly as the cat began to eat the snack. They expected it to devour the whole snack, but it then stopped eating and continued to meow as if calling for something. "Meow! Meow!" As the meowing grew insistent, five kittens of all colors jumped down from various trees. They were cautious at first, glancing around, but then they hurried to their mother and ate the snack joyously. After polishing off the food, they surrounded their mother. Upon the mother cat’s command, the kittens scattered, each climbing up a different tree. It was probably the safest place for them.
