Throne of Gods

Throne of Gods

And if, it was any other God, they would take it for treason which it is, but as it is, my flawed nature allows me to joke even at wrong moments, which baffles me, because at this point, anyone could have killed king Orrin. And all that we know, we can't do anything about it yet, until the end of the competition of Gods, to attain a new king to the throne. Such a competition that hasn't been held in the last thousand years. And such a competition which will begin from the 3rd day after king Orrin 's ceremonial burial. "Alec," My head snaps away from my journal to the voice calling my name. Odell stands at the open door, with two hands into the white suit trouser he is wearing.

Shattered Vows: The Hidden Heiress's Coldest Return

Shattered Vows: The Hidden Heiress's Coldest Return

"Beatrice Thorne is a vulture. She picks at carcasses. But she didn't have the genius to frame a Valerius for a car accident and keep it hidden for four years. She had help." He pulled a small, silver flash drive from his pocket and held it out. Elena reached for it, but his fingers closed around hers, pulling her hand and her body closer to his. "Before I give you this," Dante whispered, his voice dropping into a dangerous register, "you need to know that once you see what’s on it, there is no going back to your 'Ice Queen' throne. You’ll be in the trenches with me." Elena’s heart hammered against her ribs, but she didn't pull away.

THE ALPHA TRIALS

THE ALPHA TRIALS

A flame leapt from her palm, wrapping Ava in golden heat. The Alphas surged forward—but were frozen by the Hollow One’s breath. Ava screamed once— But the fire didn’t consume her. It revealed her. The Fifth Mark bloomed over her heart—white and violet. Not belonging to any throne. But above them all. The Shadow King whispered: “She is not born. She is not made. She is chosen by ruin and rebirth.” The Fifth Throne The fifth throne cracked open. And light poured out. Blinding. Endless.

Denae O'Connor
This is by far my favorite book in this entire series. Not every author can write a same-sex relationship and make it so layered and nuanced instead of "corny". A.D. Burnell is a Queen Among Authors, and I can't wait until they get thr recognition they so thoroughly deserve.

The Wedding Night Curse

The Wedding Night Curse

The chandelier above swung violently, though no wind stirred. The air grew heavy—thick with something old. A magic that wasn’t mine. A presence that filled the room like black smoke. Alika’s body lifted slightly off the settee, her hair rising as if underwater. Her lips moved— But it was Morrigan’s voice that came out. > “The vessel breaks, the bride awakens. This time, the throne shall not remain empty.” “No,” I said firmly, stepping forward. “She is not your throne.” I grabbed the silver blade again and slashed my palm, fresh blood spilling.

His Betrayal, My Second Chance

His Betrayal, My Second Chance

“You were called. The Four have waited for your return through endless nights. The Moonbound blood breathes again… and with it, hope.” The green glow brightened, wrapping me in warmth. For a fleeting moment, the ache in my heart—every fear, every doubt—dissolved into calm. My hands stopped trembling. Vestra’s form flickered. “They will seek you, one after another. Do not fear them. But beware… the Fifth does not follow the call of blood.” “The Fifth?” I whispered. Vestra’s eyes dimmed. “Love is its chain—and its undoing.” Before I could ask more questions, Vestra reached out and touched my cheek. Her hand felt weightless, cool, and radiant—like the first breath after rain. I didn’t flinch. I

Eclipsed Hearts: The Chronicle of Shadows and Stars

Eclipsed Hearts: The Chronicle of Shadows and Stars

The hall fell silent, the storm of battle broken at last. Serenya lowered her hands, shards slipping through her fingers, her blood mingling with glass on the floor. She felt no triumph, only the weight of what had been lost. A crown of glass could shatter—but could it ever be remade? As silence deepened, Maelis Rowan, the seer, stepped forward from the shadows. Her voice, soft yet heavy with portent, echoed through the hall: “This was not the end, child. Shattered glass gives way to sharper edges. And those edges cut deeper still.”

Had my vote. "I don't know how much time we have," Sunny said, taking my hand and leading me toward the back of the throne room. I looked up at the stained glass window, a beautiful, round piece of art depicting Sunny and Uncle Frank, smiling in tinted silicate. The previous one, a more deathly scene, but stunning nonetheless, had been shattered last summer when I freed the Wilhelm Blood Clan from the sorcerer's taint. Nice to see they'd gotten around to replacing it with something happier.

The Heiress in Glass

The Heiress in Glass

Margaux whispered. Vivienne’s eyes hardened. “No.” Margaux paused. Vivienne leaned closer. “You’ll understand soon.” Margaux’s smile faltered. Just slightly. And for the first time— Vivienne saw uncertainty. Far away— Daniel drove into the night. Toward war. Toward her. Toward the promise he would break the world to keep.
