Tim intercepts her by the decorative fountain. He is exactly how she remembers him: tall, athletic, with that signature bright, sunny smile that made him popular in college. He looks enthusiastic and utterly harmless—like a golden retriever in a suit.
"Claire!" Tim greets her warmly, holding two glasses of juice. "Wow, you haven't changed a bit. Still the campus belle."
Claire smiles politely. "Hi, Tim. Long time no see."
"I heard you're single now," Tim says, his tone cheerful and direct. "What a coincidence, me too. I just got out of a brief marriage."
