The screeching old crone I was fervently dodging happened to be located in England in the year seventeen-forty-five. I didn’t belong in that time or place. I was a covert transient from the twenty-first century. I’d traveled back in time for one purpose only. To change the future for the one I loved. I was never very good at planning things out. I'm more of a grab the seat of my pants and go kind of girl. Patience has also never been one of my strongest virtues. Historically, this grab and go habit always worked for me. Somehow, I managed to achieve my goals. This time I wasn't so sure. Had I jumped the gun without adequate preparation?

The Alpha has it. The first book had left its readers including me in a cliffhanger. I had always wanted to know what happened next on the journey of the main character. Actually it was not really about the world’s history, but it is just about the character travelling to different places in different times, discovering treasures, witnessing wars, anything that happened significantly on the year he had travelled on. And though it is a fictional story, it still has a touch of true world history in it, depending on where the character went and what time.

I turned it on and immediately began downloading sci-fi and romance novels. And then I downloaded all the latest songs from my favourite artists. After that, I decided games would be good too. I thought about movies but didn't go ahead with it as I preferred reading novels to watching movies. Once everything was all downloaded, I turned on airplane mode on my phone and began reading a sci-fi romance novel called The Eight Princes' Consort From Another Space Time. It was a novel about a girl who was mysteriously transported a thousand years back in time and first became the second daughter of the Qu family before she was married to the Eight Prince of Dongue.

The author masterfully weaves together Addie's past and present, revealing the many struggles and triumphs she has faced over the centuries. One of the standout elements of the book is the vivid descriptions of France in the 18th century, which create a strong sense of time and place. The historical details are well-researched and add depth to the story, while also highlighting the stark differences between Addie's life in the past and present. It makes me love France more. I eat my gumbo, I put the book down, and I call Cyp. He picks up almost immediately, like he's been waiting by the phone for me.

When he went back to the past, he found the time travel device he gave her before they went to save her future self. He sent it to her address and then she found him by chance. It's unexpected to be his first customer in the pharmacy. He just started there to try living in the past. Since his past vanished, he should be able to stay in this timeline. But he didn't expect to see Celine right away. He doesn't even have a solid plan yet and he didn't know if she even recognized him.

I later found out that my wife had found me unconscious in my office and called for an ambulance. During my overall analysis I found out that time travel had a physical and mental draining effect on the body of the traveler. The past and the future were both detrimental but where the future was more gradual and slow in draining the life span of the traveler, the past was more drastic and devastating to the traveler’s health. There was no great discovery on earth that had no sacrifice and so was time travel. Considering the enormity of my discovery I guess my sacrifice of not sharing my findings with the rest of the world and also losing my health to cancer was the sacrifice I had to make.

Paine. Could it really be true? Had she, Caitlin, written this very book in a different time and place, during one of the world’s many different cycles of history? Had she been the very person guiding her all this time? Before she set foot in this place, she would never have believed it. What are these people saying? Did I...somehow...fall back seven years of my life? Time travel? I turned to the familiar row of books on the small bookshelf. It was mostly science books, and I ran to them, opening the first one I could grab. Nothing. Then only something about the theory of relativity in the second. Then the third had an article. The writer of the article was in the top left corner of the page, and in it, he was talking about how he believes it is fully possible to bend time and pass through, letting yourself in through different horizons, at time either long past, or never experienced.

If she had known back in high school that she’d one day be traveling back in time, she’d have studied her history through the night, and would have made an effort to memorize everything. It didn’t matter now, she realized. Now, she was a part of history. Now, she had a chance to change it, and to change herself. The past, she realized, could be changed. Just because certain events had happened in the history books, it didn’t mean that she, traveling back, couldn’t change them now. In a sense, she already had: her appearance here, in this time, would affect everything. That, in turn, could, in its own small way, change the course of history.
