She looked breathtaking in the pictures, tanned and positively glowing, almost like she came back from a holiday. Chase, however, came back in a wheelchair. Mason hoped he suffered and that his injury was permanent. Why didn’t he die? He survived the plane crash, got kidnapped by pirates, for god’s sake – pirates of all things, and to top it off, managed to overpower them and came back a fucking hero! Hearing him call me that made Zariah stir and made me melt inside a little. I had done it. I had escaped my ass hole rejected mate and found my second chance mate. I, Irene Houston, was cast as the female antagonist from the very start. But unlike other transmigration stories, the entire plot of this novel depended on me to keep it moving. So, I followed the storyline diligently for the sake of returning home. By day, I played the role of Rafael Cortez's gentle, well-mannered wife. By night, I became Xavier Dawson's thoughtful confidante. The constant role-switching got to the point where I almost forgot my own name.

"It collapsed. The whole building collapsed! If you hadn't gotten me out, we would've been crushed!" She sobbed, terrified and relieved to be alive. I gently patted her back. In my last life, I'd cried in front of this same pile of rubble. Except back then, I'd been lying in a pool of blood with a shattered leg. In my last life, Tristan had stood over me without a scratch, staring down with pity. This time, our places had flipped. Rescue crews flooded the campus. The excavators couldn't get through, so rescuers and search dogs dug through the rubble by hand.

"You left me stranded overseas for four years, fully aware that I almost died multiple times trying to track you down. You didn't lift a finger. You just sat back and treated my survival like a joke. "Since the day I landed, I've told you repeatedly that we're done and I'm not marrying you. So, which one of us is playing games?" Damian tried to justify himself, his voice wavering. "I knew you were abroad, but there's no way you actually went to the front lines. You're just a girl—" "What about it?" Sebastian cut him off, his gaze darkening. "The woman you're talking about repeatedly ran straight into heavy fire, risking her life to report from active war zones.

They both said in union. "Guysss." They all stopped. The door flung open and inside came a very beautiful girl. Alex was on his feet. "Olivia?" Alex said in disbelief. Olivia was his old school friend. She is a beta but more beautiful than any Omega. "Hi Alex." She came inside and hugged him. She saw Alex after so many years. "What are you doing here? Aren't.....Aren't you.... I mean how did you survive?" Alex asked. He thought he was the only one along his sister who survived. Olivia used to live in their previous pack despite being the beta she lived there.
