I am known as Lady Eve to many in this time period. After listening to the two British men, I tried to think back to what would be good time periods to reenter my life. My great, great, great mother Dora said I had to go back to that moment in time when she pulled me out. Unfortunately, I couldn’t alter the events that had happened too far to the point of creating a new event to happen. I couldn’t possibly stop them from holding me hostage. However, I could go back in time to do little, small things to ensure I survived the ordeal. In addition, the moment I went back to that time when I was still tied up to the chair, my pocket watch would disappear and return to her.

So why is she seeing it again? Lydia rushed to the mirror to confirm her suspicions, and was shocked. The girl in the mirror was her, but at the same time not her. The girl in the mirror looked like an 19 year old girl, but she was a 29 year old woman when she died. So does this mean she was reborn, traveling back in time, ten years prior to the end of her life? Lydia stared at the mirror and the corner of her lips slowly rose high. ‘Family… I’m back.’

It was a witching glass.” “A witching what?” “The thing you called an hourglass. I read about it in my mothers’ books. It's an hourglass that’s been enchanted to control time. This item allows a person to travel between the past, the present, and the future.” “So, am I in the past?” “Yes.” “What year is it?”

Cassius said with a smirk, likely mistaking my gaze on the bookshelves as me restraining myself from browsing them. Despite not feeling as enthusiastic as he assumed, I still went for the books. I let my hands trail across the spine of the books, stopping on the thickest one. I carefully pulled it out, afraid to even scratch the cover. “That’s the novel section of the books. There’s really no title on the cover because it’s printed on the first page,” Cassius explained from his bean bag. I nodded at his explanation and opened the book. My heart nearly dropped upon reading the title. Was this just a coincidence? Written in an elegant font was ‘The Second Time Around: Chronicles of Ava Midgen’

"I borrowed it from the library. It's amazing how good that book is. The writer is crazy. I've been exploring different genres lately, though." I nodded, sensing a shared interest emerging. "I love exploring new genres. It's like entering different worlds without leaving the comfort of your room. But I’m going to stick with my sci-fi.” I said, it sounded like a joke and Brenda laughed about it. “Have you ever tried reading historical fiction? Echoes of Time is one of my favourites." Excitement danced in my eyes. “Yes, I've read that one too. The way it weaves history and fiction together is pretty good. Do you enjoy the historical aspects as much as the story itself?"

Along the way, she found herself walking beside Pedro more and more, his quiet strength a balm to her worries. As they crossed rivers and trekked through dense forests, Alice and Pedro began sharing stories of their pasts. Their conversations started innocently enough—Pedro told her about his childhood, his dreams of freedom, and his deep admiration for his father, Ramon. Alice, in turn, shared memories of her life before the time travel, her family, and her longing for peace.

He wasn't expecting a date in from the future, just one from a couple of years ago. He wasn't expecting time travel to be real yet, let alone at Sýnnefa. He had just stumbled into a science fiction novel. Red_Two had just brought him into an entirely different, new world. He gulped. "Red_Two, this is the year 2080."

“You stayed steady. You didn’t shift. Everything else was sliding and you were still… you.” Mercy’s voice cut in, quieter now. “Because you make time angry.” I stared at her. Mercy met my gaze. “Time likes flow. It likes inevitability. It likes history to happen in the order it expects. Anchors disrupt it. People like you make it work harder to keep its ledger balanced.” The word ledger sat wrong in my mouth. I understood war accounts. Losses. Numbers. But time as bookkeeping was a thought that made me feel suddenly small.
