Ava braced herself. Eli grabbed her arm. “Hold on!” ⸻ Time distorted. The city, the apartment, the mirror — everything bent, twisted, rewound. Ava felt herself being pulled through the loops she had lived a dozen times. Every past version of herself flashed before her eyes — the scared girl in the motel room, the one running from the fire, the one reading the first letter, the one who confronted her mom in the machine. The reflection spoke over the noise. “Every choice mattered. Every hesitation shaped the outcome. And yet… you persisted.”

She asked cheerfully. "Evan Lynch." Over the next few days, Hannah and I actively tried to figure out the rules of this time-space distortion phenomenon. But the more we investigated, the more confused we became. Sometimes, something placed in one spot would disappear the next second, but if we put something in the exact same place again, nothing would happen. This time-space distortion seemed completely random. It appeared without warning, and the size of the objects it transferred was random too. But there were still some patterns.

Warm to the taste but minty and cooling on the body. "Time travel is a delicate and intricate matter. Changing the smallest details of anything could lead to major changes in the future." Pennelope stated, her forefinger tapping her teacup as she went on. "For example, delaying events that are set in that time could be the paradox to create a shift in the dynamic of things which we call variants." "Are variants bad?" I took another sip of the tea. "Child, do you sleep well?” Miriam noticed my tired eyes, shrewd as ever.

Hey readers I know I'm not giving proper updates to this book. I am extremely sorry about it. I have been quite busy because of my studies, and I have to wrap up my other story, "Love Me Again." The story has few chapters left, and then I'll continue another book in it with the story of next generation. So, I am focusing more on it as it's about to end. Soon, I'll come up with new chapters for Beyond The Time.

I’m not sure what I expected to happen, but I had an overwhelming urge to not change anything unless I knew it would provide some kind of benefit in the future. There are certain time travel stories that suggest events are fixed. That whatever a time traveller does, in the past or the future, they’ve in effect already done it. The way things are, is the result of those actions; going back to change something makes no difference since you already went back and this is how it turned out. In fact, because you went back, this is how it turned out.

Could that explain her sudden understanding of the Athabascan language? No way! She thought, rejecting the possibility. Time travel wasn’t possible – forget about all those almost believable Hollywood movies about going to the past or the future, but there was simply no solid evidence to prove that phenomenon to be true. Nobody has ever been able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that time travel was real, because it wasn’t. It’s simply fiction.
