He nods once and strides toward Briareus. He’s barely ten feet out when the Titan roars, “TURN BACK, SPIRIT. NONE WHO ENTER HERE RETURN.” All of his mouths speak at once. The sound hits like a thunderclap. We all duck, covering our ears. “Mighty Briareus, oldest of the Hecatoncheires, uncle to the Olympians—I greet you with respect and beg your benevolence,” Odysseus calls. Somehow, I know he’s speaking Ancient Greek—and somehow, I understand it. Judging by the confused-but-comprehending faces around me, everyone else does too.

In the distance, they could see the shapes of the Titans. They were not giants in the sense of large people. They were formations. A sleeping form that was also a range of hills. A reclining figure that was a cliff face. Their bodies were made of crystal and obsidian and granite, and they pulsed with the slow, deep rhythm they had felt from the outside. They were magnificent and terrifying. And they were dreaming. As the family walked carefully through this dreamscape, fragments of the Titans' memories washed over them.

Oh, I’ve never thought of it before, but I guess it also makes Hecate your Auntie.” All my defenses instantly crumble hearing her ridiculous declaration. She's insane. “What the Hell are you talking about? My grandfather’s name is Andreas. He was a great werewolf, but not a Titan God.” “Please sit down, Bronx.” She motions to the sand in front of her. “It seems like this is going to take longer than I thought, and you still need to get your workout in.”

“Oh! There’s Ionia on Mount Olympus where Alpha Titanus rules the Ionic Pride. He’s an old shifter whose daughter was abducted years ago! He was very attached to her. In fact, he’s still looking for her!” I gaped at him with wide eyes. Was there any connection between Alpha Titanus, me, and Hera?
