Half a month later, my phone buzzed with a message from an unknown number. The words that appeared on my screen made my blood run cold. "I'm sorry, Lyra. I know you're not dead, and I know I have no right to ask you for anything. But please, for the sake of our former sisterhood, save me! Marcus has gone crazy! He's really lost his mind! My child is gone, my health is ruined, and my leg is crippled. He tortures me every day! I've paid you back with my blood and flesh for that month of suffering you endured. Isn't that enough? I just want to live, even if it's like a dog! I still have 5% of Ravenclaw Pack's territory shares. I'll give them all to you! Just please save me!"

I nod my head in response and look straight, feeling the plane taking off slowly from the ground. We were finally leaving this place behind. I took this chance and look out of the window, admiring the beauty of my hometown. “Goodbye,” I say softly, placing my palm on the window and feel a tear roll down my cheeks. Mom grasps my hand and says, “Don’t worry. You will make many friends in New York. Don’t think about what happened anymore okay?” I gave her a sad smile and look away. Never look back at this place again and move on. This will be my new beginning. I repeat this in my head a hundred times before I drift off to sleep wondering what my future will be like...

"You've got some nerve putting your hands on me. Just so you know, I'm Mark's wife." She looped her arms around my neck and whined, "Honey, you've gotta get back at him for me. He was bullying me." She even began shifting in my lap on purpose. My silence made her fidgety. She leaned in and whispered in my ear, "Say something already. You proposed to me in our last life, remember? I'm saying yes now." Her breath slid warm along the side of my neck. I watched her, the same woman who wouldn't even let me touch her in my past life, now doing everything she could to seduce me. All I felt was disgust, like something filthy had rubbed off on me.

They don't know I have plans, lots and lots of plans. It's a different feeling when you have a new lease on life. It's as if the whole world has been opened up to you, or as they say, it's your oyster. Things I didn't pay much attention to before now have new meaning, and I've found a new joy in even the simplest of things, while some things have been harder to traverse.

And this new world? It wasn’t replacing their old life. It was expanding it.

When Adrian Hale chose Rosalie Quinn for the tenth time, I was hanging helplessly over the cliff’s edge. He clutched a rope in one hand, the web between his thumb and forefinger worn raw and bloody.
