My soul drifted up from a cage at the bottom of the ocean, somehow ending up near Isaac Thornton. Liam Donovan, his assistant, told Isaac, "Mr. Thornton, Mrs. Thornton's been in the ocean for a day and a night. The water's freezing; she might not make it." Isaac replied, "She's only been in the ocean for a day and a night, but my Mandy's gone forever." Liam tried again, "But the dead can't be brought back. If something happens to Mrs. Thornton..." Isaac threw a stack of papers at him.

A scream erupted from Ember's throat and she pushed Chloe away but her cousin grabbed her by the hair when she tried to escape. “I'll kill you b*tch!” Chloe screamed back and with all the force she could muster, she pushed hard and Ember landed with a splash. Dread swelled inside her like a huge balloon as she sank to the bottom of the deep pool. Water seeped on the fabric of her heavy gown, causing her to drift down further. At that moment a memory of herself sinking into the bottom of a pool then drowning came crashing in her mind. Ember choked and water filled her nose and mouth. She closed her eyes in acceptance and surrender, realizing drowning was the worst way to die .

“Then you’ll burn nonetheless.” In the next second, I couldn’t breathe anymore. My head remained forcefully submerged, eyes burning as the water got into my lungs. I tried to fight against his grip, but Dante wouldn’t budge. His hold was tight as iron, carrying every intent of putting me through hell. Was he saying something? I could barely make it out. It hurt so much, and water was already winding up my nose, making it hard to breathe. I couldn’t see. Couldn’t hear or focus on anything but the fact that I was being drowned. Dante meant to kill me.

"Mommy's right here." Emma just turned her head away. "The waiting period is over," I said calmly, looking at Jessica. "We need to go to the courthouse and finalize our divorce." She hadn't expected me to be so calm. Her eyes reddened slightly. "You really want to divorce me? Does Emma even want that? Or have you already found someone else?" I let out a breath. "You never cut ties with your ex-husband during our marriage. You drained my paychecks. And you nearly got our daughter killed. Any one of those reasons is enough."

The air suddenly feels too heavy for my lungs to digest. The hammering of my heart deafens me as I peer closer, saying silent prayers. Once I'm close enough, her form materializes in my head. The steady oscillation of her body makes bile rise to my throat. Purity. It's Purity. She... she drowned.

AVA Ava groaned as the sun filtered through the blinds, slicing across her face like it had a personal vendetta. Her head throbbed, not quite a full-blown hangover, but enough to make her regret not chugging a bottle of water before bed. She hadn't even had that much to drink, Luke had made sure of that. Her mouth was dry. Her legs felt like jelly. And her stomach... well, it was fine, but her pride was a little sore.

I stepped into his bathroom and paused, waiting for instructions. "Good, Saint. Now, fill the bathtub with water~~" I complied, letting the water pour in until it began to spill over the edges. "Get in and lie down. I want you to drown, Saint. Just close your eyes and drift off into the water~~" I slipped into the tub and reclined, my body sinking beneath the surface. I squeezed my eyes shut and submerged completely, holding my breath as a suffocating pressure gripped my chest, urging me to take a breath in a place devoid of air.

Letting it all wash over me in waves as I drown myself in the drink. This is the least I deserve.
