Without warning, I landed hard on the ground, rolling across the dirt several times before my forehead slammed against the trunk of a tree. Himari’s POV. - I cry until my throat hurts and no more tears pour out, my body falling back and my head falling against something soft and small. Oriel wiggles out from beneath my head and I smile amidst the tears on my face to see my little friend staring at me with large black curious eyes. A brief shadow passes over us and I feel Talon’s presence. “If anything, for the sake of you guys and all those who care so much about me...I want to be useful as well and find a meaning to this existence” The words slip out my lips as my vision begins to glaze over.

Toby finally let go of my shirt and looked at me with tears in his eyes. "I'm sorry," he said softly. "I didn't mean to take it out on you. It's just that...I'm scared.” As I stood there, watching Toby cry, my heart went out to him. He was clearly in a lot of pain, and I could sense his anguish as he spoke about his inability to protect someone he loved. I could feel the weight of his emotions as if they were my own. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him into a tight embrace. He buried his face in my shoulder, his tears soaking my shirt as he wept. I could feel the deep sadness and frustration radiating from him, and it broke my heart to see him in such pain.

Toby brought an awkward hand up, rubbing her back in a soothing way until he heard sniffles and the faint smell of salt. “Are you crying?” Toby froze before he parted from the hug to look at her, and true to his words, fat drops of tears were dripping out of her eyes, and he panicked. “Oh no. Ariel, please don’t cry.” All he could think was that he was digging his early grave if Kane even got a hint that his mate had been crying, and he just stood there. Toby produced the hanky he always had in his pocket, and he dabbed it on her eyes gently, careful not to touch her skin.

Toro wraps his other arm around my form, lifting my entire body up with ease as he throws me over his shoulder with little effort. I begin to kick and scream, thrashing angrily within his hold as I claw my nails into his skin. "LET ME GO!!! STOP THIS!!! PLEASE!!!!" I scream as I plead with complete and utter desperation. More tears flood my eyes, making it impossible to see as the incredible amount of crying that I've been doing has started taking it's effects on me. Toro comes to an abrupt stop before roughly grabbing my entire body and placing me back onto the ground once again.

My tears blurred everything, but I forced myself to focus. I squeezed my eyes shut, my hands curling into fists as I screamed again, this time from the very core of my being. But still nothing changed. Tobias snarling hungrily, his mouth wide open to tear me apart, I shut my eyes tightly and released a loud scream.
