"What am I actually thinking? It seems like all the problems just grow into one and I don't know what to do. Thousands of times I have tried to be the best human being, but thousands of times I have also had to swallow all the refreshing tastes like this and it seems that this is not one of the reasons I am a person who is really, really, really stupid."

My mind spirals with a million thoughts. I feel like I'm going to go insane.

Logan stretched his arms along the back of the bench, tilting his head toward the sky. “Do you ever just… sit and think?” he asked. I scoffed. “That’s literally all I do.” He chuckled. “Okay, fair.” I turned to him. “What about you?” Logan was quiet for a moment. “Sometimes. But mostly, I try not to think.” I frowned. “Why?” He exhaled. “Because thinking too much makes shit complicated, I don't want that”. Something about the way he said it made my chest tighten. There was a weight behind those words, something he wasn’t saying.

I asked, “I'm not sure this is the perfect time for this conversation, or any conversation at all. Drowning sets you at the risk of brain damage, and I wouldn't want to risk it. Get some rest, we'll talk later.” With that, he helped me lay back on the bed. I faced the ceiling, still thinking. That was the problem. I was always thinking! All I did was think! That was what got me into this mess again. Overthinking. I was clouding my head with too many possibilities that it resulted in lies. I groaned. “Are you comfortable?” He asked, “I'm fine.” I replied, “I'll be leaving now. I need to scan the town and keep everything in check. I'll be back by evening.”

Richard had not sounded desperate or emotional, and that alone made everything he said more dangerous than he had been. “You’re thinking too much,” Dylan said without looking at me. I let out a quiet breath. “I don’t think there’s such a thing right now,” I replied. “There is,” he said. “When it leads nowhere.” “And you think this leads nowhere?” I asked. “I think overthinking slows decisions,” he replied. I turned my head slightly toward him, studying his profile. “And rushing them makes things better?” I asked. “I’m not rushing,” he said. “I’m deciding.”

It's like they have a mind of their own, trying to take over the little space in my head. And it only gets more confusing and complicated because, for some reason, Jacob keeps popping into my head, and that's so out of the blue because I usually never think about him. I try my best to keep him out of my mind to avoid getting hurt, but it's like he's on repeat in my thoughts and I can't hit the pause button. It's driving me nuts. I wish I had a magic trick to make those thoughts disappear, but unfortunately, I'm still figuring it out myself.

'Just like I’m clearly falling for you' Gabriel’s words keep playing like a loop in my head over and over again for the rest of the day. We had back-to-back meetings with different investors, yet I couldn’t focus on anything except those seven words. As you have probably guessed, I am an overthinker. I overanalyze and overthink everything until it drives me to the edge of insanity. That’s what I’ve been doing the whole fucking day.

He watched everything: the roads, the buildings, the people, and the activities. “Why are you thinking,” I said. He didn’t look at me. “I usually am.” “About?” “Everything.” I almost smiled. “That’s your first mistake.” That got his attention. He turned slightly, brows drawing together. “Thinking?” “Overthinking.” “I’d rather that than not thinking at all,” he answered “Balance,” I corrected. “You don’t have it yet.” “And you do?” I laughed “Yes.” The confidence in the answer didn’t need emphasis.

And what would be their gain in all of the trouble they put themselves to? I thought about it and all the possible reasons for over and over again. But it was soon frustrating and clear to me that I had better stopped that if I still wanted my head to stay intact on my neck, since the more I thought about it, the more my head kept pounding. With nothing else to think about and anxiousness for whoever was behind this evil deed and whatever it was the person wanted raging through my mind but still not solved, my mind slowly drifted right back to the one person I wished in a thousand years that I never thought of.

I wanted to believe it. Kylan’s hand moved from my knee to my waist, pulling me in closer. “You’re overthinking again,” he whispered. I corrected him. “I’m just thinking—” “Too much,” he said. “You’re thinking too much, and that isn’t going to help anyone.” I let out a breathy laugh, my forehead brushing against his. “I am stuck in this room with nothing else to do. Of course I’m going to think!” Kylan hummed, his lips curling into a smirk. “Yes…because what are we supposed to do in this room all day?”
