Just deep growls, like a warning. “Oh, hell.” One growled. A deep, chesty rumble. Another joined in. Their bodies low to the ground, muscles tensed, tails whipping side to side like they were counting down to attack. Then they ran at me. No more time to think. I didn’t hesitate. I let go. Bones cracked. Muscles tore and shifted. My skin rippled. Fur shot out like needles. My hands curved, fingers breaking and reforming into claws. My mouth stretched wide, jaw lengthening, teeth sharpening.

His nostrils flare. His silver eyes darken. He leans in closer—so close, his nose nearly brushes the skin of my throat. Then, he inhales. Deep. Slow. Knowing. His entire expression shifts. The amusement vanishes. His jaw locks. His fingers dig into my wrist. “You smell strange,” he murmurs, voice dangerously soft. My breath hitches. He inhales again. Slower. And then—I feel it. The change. His claws extend, sinking into the dirt beside my head. A sound rumbles from his chest, deep and guttural, so raw I barely recognize it as a growl.

I can’t move. His lip peels back, teeth glistening. A low, guttural growl vibrates through the room and suddenly, he lunges. Straight for me. Oh God!

The lick of pain making a feral growl break out from my throat. The final sign is a loud growl before my fangs fully form, sharp canines replacing normal teeth. My suit is shredded as my bones snap and reshape, giving way to bigger animalistic ones. Fur covers smooth skin and almost as soon as it begins, everything stops. My wolf snaps its neck from side to side, like it is searching for prey. I feel the guys move back, not coming too close because that angers him. Elliott takes a step forward but a growl from me has him holding back. He halts in his steps, making me feel relieved.

My throat stretched around it, and for a horrifying second, I didn’t even know if it was me making that noise or something else… something ancient. Something predatory. A deep, guttural GROWL rolled from my chest, vibrating against the claws still embedded in my skin, shaking through the stones beneath me. Not a scream of pain anymore. Not a cry for help. But a warning. A challenge. The monster above me froze. Its ears flicked. Its body trembled slightly, red eyes narrowing, something… uncertain now in its posture.

My canines erupted from my mouth over the mention of any man or demon touching my mate. I bared my teeth, emitting a low and menacing growl that vibrated through my entire body. The ground shook again and Axton staggered back. That’s right! Hooved feet weren’t so useful when there was an earthquake going on. I struggled, trying to break through the chains again. Ah fuck! It was useless.

Time stretched, thick and suffocating. He growled, baring his teeth. "You're dead.”

Beta James looked relaxed and wasn’t pulling away, but the growl grew louder. Fuck!!!

His nose extended forward as his teeth grew, and his eyebrows increased in size and spread across to his ears, which had grown into furry points. “I fear nothing” he growled in a deep and rumbling animalistic voice. I had no reaction. I just stared at his disfigured face. Gunner growled and pulled me back away from Doyle. The rest of the people around us were all silently watching. I smirked at the furious Alpha, again probably not the best idea. But I found the whole situation hilarious. This idiot thinks he could actually beat me. Maybe he could beat the girl that he thinks I am, Zee. But the mongrel has zero chance against me, the real me, the incarnation of death. His face slowly returne

He saw that I was not budging. His jaw muscles twitched, a barely noticeable movement. The low growl that had been a constant rumble in his chest finally began to recede. It didn't vanish entirely; it softened into a mere hum. His hackles, which had been aggressively flared, slowly, reluctantly, began to fall.
