Finally, the dragging stops, and for a second, nothing happens other than the Growling and snarling happening around. I try to catch my breath, uneven and shallow as it may be. But I’m flipped over, and glass sinks past my fur, lodging into my back. I snarl. Over me, Everest stands, human again. His mouth is pulled in that victorious smirk he had since the start of this fight—a man who knows he can't lose in his own home. “Pathetic,” he growls, eyes darker than midnight hanging overhead. Shadows flicker in his fingers. I’m terrifyingly mesmerized by them. I try to move. To yelp. To shift back, but I can’t.

Towcs suddenly finds himself under Manor as Manor roars at him showing his sharp teeth.

I stuck my tongue out in a playful gesture. He was not happy. Not at all. If looks could kill. I took a few steps toward him, thinking I’d try to comfort him. Bad idea. He bared his teeth and crinkled his nose—a face that said, you’re about to die. I lifted one paw and he growled the most menacing growl I’d ever heard in my life. That was pretty impressive considering I’d grown up with three alphas. When I didn’t immediately move, he leaped closer to me and snapped at me, getting right in my face. I backed up and he inched closer to me, continuing to threaten me with his teeth and growls, making it very clear that I was no longer welcome.

My hand shot forward, the claws raking through the air with terrifying precision. Then came my mouth. A sharp, agonizing pressure in my jaw. Teeth. No, fangs. My teeth cracked and shifted, stretching, elongating as the pressure in my skull intensified. My gums bled as fangs tore through, gleaming, sharp—too sharp. Too large for my mouth. They pressed against my lips, making it feel like my entire head was about to explode, making blood pool in my mouth causing me to swallow. I could feel the muscles in my face stretching as my jaw pushed outward, elongating into something... something monstrous. My mouth opened in a guttural snarl, my throat choking on the growls that escaped me.

His jaw elongated and widened to accommodate the massive teeth there. He nipped the air inches from my face, and I hissed louder. I locked my legs around his back even tighter.
