He glances at me briefly. “You just noticed?” My face heats slightly. “I—yeah.” A small pause, then he says: “Interesting. I kissed you so hard the last time I thought you noticed.” My face immediately flush, and I look away fast. I must’ve been so into the moment that I hadn’t noticed that he had a tongue piercing.

He was grinning, displaying his teeth, which had darkened due to the chocolate, and it made me laugh. He looked like he had no teeth but was still handsome. Why is that? He raised an eyebrow at me.
