Touch Stories Novels & Stories

Elena's Point of View I stood in the poorly illuminated room, tears streaming down my face as I recounted everything I'd been through—the loss, the pain, the gain… everything. I hugged myself, memories of my son flashing before my eyes. I could still see him running toward me and planting kisses on my face. I shut my eyes, letting the tears fall freely, hoping that maybe the pain would go away if I just admitted that I was hurt. I could still hear Ralph's deep voice speaking to me:

And his hand—his large, calloused, gentle hand—touched my hair. So softly. His fingers threaded through the strands, stroking from my scalp down to the ends, then back up again. The touch was soothing, almost hypnotic. "What kind of story do you want?" he asked quietly. "I don't know. Anything. Just talk to me."

Touch! Touch! Touch! Touch! The crude oil water parted when I stepped on it. The haze that entered it started rising out and crawling back into my smoke hair. I knelt, my mouth muttering something. I touched her forehead, my eyes saw what she was seeing; her deepest nightmares and fears, the worst moments in her life. I blew air into her face and rubbed her forehead. A black snake with red eyes crawled out of her and wrapped around my hand, crawling back into my hair. She sighed as her veins slowly returned to normal.

“Stop it!” “You need to hear this Tasha. It doesn’t make sense that you would go back to the man that hurt you like that. He was s------g another woman while his daughter, your daughter was lying dead on some street somewhere. Your daughter died whilst looking for him on that street Tasha but where was he?” Unable to bear the pain of his words anymore, Natasha slapped him hard across the face before running out of the restaurant. “It still stings you know, your slap?” Tulani said to Natasha who still had her back to him. He was caressing his cheek where she had slapped him four years ago.

They sat with their backs to the river, snuggled together and giggled like a couple of high school lovers. Thaddeus rushed as fast as his scrawny little legs could carry him, to stay in the waters was to incur the wrath of Tonya. He knew better. With her small frame, she has the power of a sumo wrestler within her. Today wasn't the day to piss her off, not when she's busy with Emily talking about things he'd never understand. He thought to himself as he ran his hand through his hair, shaking like his bones had become fragile and brittle.

His hands venture over her curved body, exploring. They pull apart and open their eyes. They stare at each other, deep into each other's eyes. Hussaini's full of wonder and love, Nafisa's full of curiosity and passion. No words are spoken but a story worthy of them is communicated. He leans in a softly kisses up and down her neck. She lets out little whimpers of anticipation. He works his way back to her tender, smooth lips. As they kiss she rolls him over and lies on top of his strong, muscular body.

Yet, now, dozens of unread messages had flooded her screen, the notification count still climbing. Evelyn's eyes widened in surprise. Clicking into them, she quickly realized that nearly all of them were about Matteo. "Matteo's seriously messed up. Didn't he get his one true love back? Now that you're gone, he suddenly woke up and realized your worth. Please. What does he think this is, some dramatic novel where the jerk hero gets a second chance?

“But it felt real.” He reached across the table slowly, hesitantly, and let his fingers brush mine. “It was real.” The warmth of his touch seared into my skin, sparking something deep inside. I didn’t pull away. Instead I let my hand rest there trembling slightly. We didn’t talk much after that. Just sat in the quiet hum of the cafe sipping our drinks, our hands brushing now and then. Each touch sent another ripple through me, like faint echoes of something lost but not gone.

"How did I know? Of course, I was so close to you but I didn't feel any air coming from your notrils, that's why! Haha" This guy is amazing. He sure notices even small details. When all was quiet, my stomach suddenly growled. How embarrasing. "Ohh tummy, we are near the gasoline station. Just one more block. There's a bakery near there to grab rolls and coffee." He said while touching my tummy. I felt some weird sensation with his touch. Again, we are not werewolves but still there is that sort of magical spark that they talk of when a mate touches you.

He was sweating as he sank to the ground. “Didn’t you see the news? It spreads by touch.” They huddled together on the ground, right by the sofa, scared to their very core. They held each other in silence. There were no words that could be spoken. Their dreams, work, and desires - nothing mattered now, except their love for each other. Between their sobs, Tina said, “By the way, I am pregnant. But it probably doesn’t matter now.”
