She read the words one after the other; as her finger touched a part of the words, a secret hole opened, revealing a large book. Chloe was standing behind her, curious of what's happening She carried it, blow on it as the book was covered in dust. Chloe handed her a cloth and dusted it with it. The first thing her eye catches was the words on the front cover, "Forbidden" She read slowly.

God, I'm such a wreck! I should just forget him. But my heart just won't let me. I pace and fret, until I've run out the clock. Then the servers return with empty plates. "How did it go?" I ask them, eagerly. "Good," they say. "He seemed happy." I punch the air and smile to myself as I clean the dishes. Then suddenly, the room falls silent. The Alpha walks in. I swallow the lump in my throat. "Good morning, ladies," he says. "I want to come and personally commend you on an excellent breakfast. The food here is delicious."

They knew better. I remember one day when Venus came home from school and she walked straight past Zeus without even looking at him. This was a few months before we left for training. Charlatans! The back room was large. He searched, until he found the book, he searched for. The book was massive, covered in a thick layer of dust. The cover was locked with a handle that was shaped like a figure with elongated arms, he forced the lock. Nothing happened, he wasn't losing hope. With one movement of his hand, he removed the layer of dust.

Staring at the book shelf as it shifted back. Revealing a small secret passageway, flanked by shadows and stone. What's in the lord's name is....

I choked, coughed, my jaw still locked tight, every breath splitting into a rough sound that hurt my own ears. “Medico.” “Adesso.” “Move.” “No one touches her unless I say.” Zach’s voice echoed above my head. Another hand came close. I felt it more like a shadow than an actual touch. My shoulder jerked. My fingers tightened again. Zach growled. “Back off.” He pulled me closer against his familiar chest. His warmth pressed into my cheek, and some small part of me recognized the rhythm of his breathing. Slow. Restrained. Angry.
