Making you think you have power when really, you're dancing exactly where he wants you. You and Julian both." "Why are you telling me this?" "Because I want you to understand what you are to him. A toy. A possession. Something he acquired and will eventually discard." Dante's hand came to my face. I jerked back. "But it doesn't have to be that way. You could choose differently."

They ate the food in silence. After eating, they moved to the living room debating on which movie to watch. "Let's watch Lion King" nafisa suggested . "And why? "Khadija questioned. "Do I look like a baby to you "she added. Nafisa dropped the topic of watching cartoons before her cousin would take it far, they decided on watching The Meg which nafisa found weird . Vintage cars lined the space, polished and gleaming, with sleek curves, chrome details, and a time capsule on the wheels. “Holy shit,” I breathed, running my hand over a red Mustang’s hood. “Are these yours?”

I chuckled, amused at what the kids were thinking and they all started making guesses excitedly. They are arguing amongst themselves trying to come to a conclusion on where we were going when I finally veered off the highway. "T, o, y, that's toy. Right, mommy?" Justin asked and I smiled. "Yes, baby." "What about this: s, t, o, r, e? What's that mommy?" He enquired again. "I can't see what's written above toy, Mommy," Mason complained and I laughed. "Well, you don't need to know. All that matters is that we're at this city's largest toystore," I revealed and they began screaming excitedly.
