Calla’s Daughter – POV The train ride felt different this time. She wasn’t running. She wasn’t chasing. She wasn’t even searching. She was going — forward, not backward. Present, not lost. In her backpack was a copy of her book, a leather journal, and the cassette player, now worn at the edges from overuse. The tape itself had begun to crackle more, but the sound still played, the lullaby still hummed through, like a memory refusing to fade.

Shuffling to his locker, he pulled something out. She blinked at the brown covered book. "You'll have to read the entire thing. It is the only thing I will be testing you on. You have to understand everything in it." Celina pressed her lips together, opening the cover of the thick book to the first few pages. The pages were worn in and yellowing. Her nose wrinkled at that. "Do not fret, my child. I'll be teaching you all this kind of stuff. You're going to be working longer than the rest of the riders in training."He pointedly said. "We'll go over some of the easy rules mentioned in the book today. Does that sound good?"

Maddox mutters . I sit comfortably on the one of the huge chairs and wait for Maddox.After five minutes he comes back with two cups of orange juice and hands one to me . We sit in awkward silence as we both sip our juice . "Well," I finally speak putting my juice down on the table . I grab my backpack and remove two huge books i carried from the library.I spread them on the desk and open the first page . "I suggest we do a miniature train ,it's the perfect example of how we demonstrate electromagnetism," I flip the pages and point at the train.

Although I wasn't able to understand most of them, I still decided to continue reading. The first book which I was able to make sense of was something called 'basic core training'. It was a normal exercise routine that was previously used by the military to train their soldiers. It was before the invasion occurred and hunters came into existence. Since I was going to start preparing for the awakening ceremony anyway, I decided to start early. .......................................…
