A mini fountain sat at the center of the circular driveway, its water cascading in soft splashes. I slowed the car to a stop, the tires crunching lightly against the gravel. Before I could step out, my two dogs came bounding across the expansive front lawn. Thor, the massive German Shepherd, and Loki, his mischievous Siberian Husky counterpart, were a sight to behold. Their sleek coats glistened in the late afternoon sun as they charged toward me, their tongues lolling out in excitement. Behind them, two of my security guards were in hot pursuit, their panicked expressions betraying their struggle to keep up.

“Special boy.” He walked in like he’d been invited to a garden party and was looking for the cucumber sandwiches. I stood up. Sitting in the secret passage were two giant dogs, like Dobermans but heavier, and about the same height as Biadet. They made no noise, I couldn’t even hear them breathing. They looked a bit bored. Then one yawned and I nearly crapped myself. Its teeth were solid metal.

A Rottweiler and a Doberman—Ace’s terrifying gifts to me—stood by my legs, tails wagging, tongues hanging out. “Hey…” I murmured, eyeing them with deep suspicion. “I thought you went back? But you’re here?” Instead, they swirled around my legs, panting happily, tails wagging violently like they hadn’t traumatized me the last time we played. “Wait—wait—woah, woah—woah—” I stumbled back, step after step, until—thud.

Cayden answered. Max muttered in his mind. "We are following." Cayden's wolf noticed the recent arrivals—guard dogs sprinting in his direction. Rottweilers. He shifted and let his wolf greet them by growling and baring his teeth. Once the dogs realised they had encountered a larger predator, they stopped in their tracks. Their trained senses were overwhelmed by Cayden's alpha wolf. Some packs also kept guard dogs to discourage human intruders. But the dogs recognised a superior alpha and retrained. Cayden strode forwards, and the dogs tilted their heads to reveal their necks and backed away.

The little gifts given by her Lord motivated her immensely. Nathan was in the living room discussing something important with Samuel and Kyle. Suddenly, he saw a dog's head as it smashed into the door and opened it. The dog's paw rubbed dust on the entrance carpet and swaggered into the room. "Hey, you silly dog!"
