"Really? Which one did you play with?" Guo Xinli opened his bag and showed Ling Yiran the Transformers toys in it as he spoke. Ling Yiran took a look. These were not just a few. There were a ton of them! There were at least a dozen at a glance. Ling Yiran found the same toy she had played with last time—Bumblebee. "This was what I had," said Ling Yiran as she looked at the Bumblebee in her hand. A touch of nostalgia flashed across her almond-shaped eyes.

I blinked, my eyes sweeping across the room. The walls were covered with huge murals of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, the colors blue and red dominating all sides of the room. On the shelves beside the bed, dozens of Transformers robots in various sizes are lined up. Some are brand new, and some look like they've been played with a lot. In the corner of the room is a small table with a blue ergonomic chair, complete with a reading lamp in the shape of Megatron's head. Most strikingly, the blanket on his bed was Transformers-patterned, with a picture of Optimus Prime looking straight at me.

Resting his head on the top of my own, we waited until Tenny seemed to find what he was looking for. "Ah, yes." He pointed to a page that was decorated in gold and silver - actual flakes of the elements if I wasn't mistaken. "This figure is the Prime." The figure was neither male or female by external markers. Haloed in colors from concentric circles of palest to darkest, the Prime stood on what looked to be a bed of snakes. Each snake was eating the tail of the snake closest to it. Each snake was a slightly different color as well. Dozens of lines ran from Prime to the snakes. From Prime's hands, body, face, feet. Everywhere. Prime looked vaguely like a voodoo doll.

I called instinctively, though he hadn’t yet appeared. A second later, there he was—standing in front of the kitchen counter, proudly holding up a large box, his face beaming with joy. “Mommy, look! Aunt Emily got me this! It’s the Transformer X-10—the coolest one ever!” he shouted, eyes sparkling. He held the box up high like a trophy, showing off the robot toy he’d dreamed of for so long. The knife in my hand froze mid-air. My breath caught in my throat. Transformer X-10.

The two projectiles lodge themselves onto each wrist as Ursa drops her shining net over her Uncle’s head. The scent of burning flesh hits the air as Primus screams in agony, the silvery net shining bright blue with the glow of the starfire crystals. A silver collar and two silver cuffs appear where the projectiles pierced Primus’ flesh. A terrible roar shakes itself free from Primus’ throat as his body begins to shrink, the cuffs adjusting in size with him as it zaps him repeatedly with bright blue flashes of contained lightning. I roar along with him, my arms outstretched helplessly as Primus’s wings wrap around his body as a useless shield.
