The black flames that had fed his spell recoiled, twisting, screaming — and then turned against him.
“No!” His voice cracked, horror breaking through his arrogance. “No, you can’t—”
The Moonfire struck him full force. The silvery light crawled across his body, sinking into every crack, every pore, burning away centuries of corruption. His skin blistered, his bones glowed, his shadow peeled off him like smoke.
He screamed again, but this time there was no echo — only silence and the hiss of divine fire.
