I stopped running. In the middle of the room, there were people hanging in the air. They were trapped inside blocks of clear, hard ice. I walked up to the first one, my hands shaking. I touched the cold surface. It was the guard, my uncle. But he was old, so old he looked like he had lived a hundred years. He was frozen, his mouth wide open in a scream that made no sound.
