Trevor Noah's Mother Today Novels & Stories

she said, more quietly. “Shame. I was just thinking about how I was going to take you tonight.” “I’m serious.” His tone shifted. Not gone was the teasing, but something softer snuck in. “Okay. What’s going on?” April hesitated, just for a second. “My mother showed up today.” The line went quiet. “As in... Gail?” Noah asked finally. “Yep. Just waltzed into my office like the meeting would be welcomed.” “What the fuck?” “Yeah.”

“His mother’s name is Abigail McGregor.” “Margaret!” Noah exclaimed, feeling completely relived and excited that Margaret finally came around. Turning to face Lovelyn, he said “I’m sorry, I can’t call you mother. I can’t acknowledge you as mother, but I’m happy that I at least saw you before the end of my life.” With that, Noah stood up from the table. Margaret took him by the hand and led him to Alex’s table. “I can’t stand her, she’s claiming to be his mother already.”

“Noah, if anyone asks about your mom, all you have to do is say that she’s not with us anymore, okay? And if people keep asking, you’re allowed to politely say that you don’t want to talk about it.” “I can say that?” “Yes, politely,” I said one more time to make sure it was fully emphasized. “Now, go and figure out what you want to have for breakfast while I tell Uncle Travis all the stuff we’ve got to do today.” “Kay!” Noah said, then scrambled off my knee and ran off. “Walk with me. I need a new shirt,” I told Tavis. “I thought I smelled you wearing your coffee. Hit a bump going too fast in the Jeep?” he asked.

I shouldn't have said that but I couldn't fuck around and let my mother know. “That makes it worse.” I exhaled slowly through my nose. “Why are you like this?” “Because I gave birth to you and unfortunately that means your emotional disasters concern me.” I snorted quietly under my breath before grabbing a drink off one of the passing trays mostly to avoid answering. Bad choice because apparently silence just encouraged her. “He’s at your university?” I took a sip. “Noah.” “Yes.” “Older or younger?” “Mother.” “Answer the question.” “Older by like four months.”

“You wanna leave? Then get out. I’ll bury anyone who questions me.” Silence followed. No one wanted to challenge him, not in this state. As they turned into another dirt path leading toward an even deeper forested hideout, Noah’s phone buzzed again. Blocked number. He hesitated but picked it up. “Hello?” A familiar, broken voice came through. “Noah… it’s your mother.” His jaw tightened. “How did you get this number?” “I know more than you think. The world’s watching you now. You’re all over the news. This isn’t revenge anymore. It’s a death wish.”

Mom finally spoke and stood up and faced Noah's carbon copy. Trey was totally shocked by mom's approach to him. The mistake continued, "We've been looking for you! My daughter has been insanely searching for you everywhere all these years!"

He found her by the infinity pool with a news paper in her hand. “Good morning Heather.” Noah said squatting beside his mum. “Is that anyway to talk to your mother?” Heather kissed him on the cheek. “Is it true, what I heard yesterday?” The puzzled look on Noah's face made her explain further, “I mean Sophia having kids for you?” He nodded, “Twins, a boy and girl.” “You didn't think it was necessary to tell your mother she's now a grandma?” “I was going to tell you eventually.” She laughed, “You've always been a bad liar.”

“There is no beach in sight for now. She laughed. “It is beautiful, Grace. I wish I was there with you now.” “Me too.” I said, “Where are Mum and Noah?” I asked. “Mum is sleeping. After eating dinner, she went to bed. Noah is out with his friends but I think he has a girlfriend.” She whispered the last part like someone would hear her. “Hmm. Why did you think that?” I asked, eager to hear the soph spill everything. “He picks up calls more often than before, he puts more effort into his dressing when going to work, and he asks mum to teach him how to cook,” I burst into laughter, tears almost coming out of my eyes.

How could mum be so low? "So who is your father?" Lady Lucinda asked and Noah in fear gulped down nothing before proceeding to answer. "My father passed on when I was fifteen years old . He was an artist just like me. I fell in love with art admiring his creations and gazing at him work." Noah answered and with a smirk on her face, Lady Lucinda clicked her tongue repeatedly as to abash Noah. "So he was a nobody?" Lady Lucinda chuckled. "Mother!" Katniss called out to her mother vehemently as she rose up from her seat hitting her fists on the table.
