"I yield." Kael stood, helping Damien up despite having just defeated him. "You fought well." Damien didn't respond, just walked away, his pride clearly wounded. Celeste stepped forward. "The three champions are chosen. Xavier Blackwood, Luna Silvercrest, and Kael Storm. The Oracle will train you. You have until dusk to prepare." The crowd dispersed slowly. I looked across the courtyard and saw Ravencrest standing at the boundary line, watching with his blood red eyes. Beside him stood three figures I hadn't seen before.

She is the most powerful alchemist among the contestants. I'm certain she'll be up to the challenge. The Headmaster’s voice rose once more: “Three trials shall test your strength, unity, and wisdom. Only one Castle will claim the Crest of Dominion before the day’s end!” Four beams of light erupted, red for Noctis, silver for Lupaxis, gold for Wyverndale, violet for Tenebrae, rising into the sky and intertwining like serpents of flame. Students cheered, stomping their feet as banners rippled in response. The scent of ozone and magic filled the air. Seraphine stood at Wyverndale’s section, her blue robes fluttering in the wind. Even though she wasn’t chosen as an official champion, she felt her pulse racing as if her fate were tied to this.

" Dad blurts out as tears roll down his face. "Your birth mother was my best friend " mom says "we grew up in the same coven and even though her status was higher than mine, she knew I was the only witch with enough power to safely hide you from the world. Witches don't fully come into their power until they turn 13 but in some cases, when a future witch is one who will have a large amount of power, they start to get some of their powers when they turn 12. "Are you begging for that brat’s release again? His treason was catastrophic—I was merciful to leave his skin on his back! Do not waste my watch defending his character!" Kahlan’s POV The announcement came early that morning—every student was buzzing with anticipation before I even stepped into class. The end-of-term competition. It happened once every year, and it was the one time the entire school turned into a war zone of pride and rivalry. The four factions—witches, vampires, dragon riders, and werewolves were all fighting for the school championship. I didn’t need anyone to explain the rules to me. Each faction had to pick five representatives, and Ramsey had already made it clear that only the best would be chosen.

Zions' P.O.V. After Rain announced that she would be stepping up to take the trial challenge that'll determine her candidacy for the throne of the Witch Queen, I linked Sam to send a list of the remaining coven leaders that will be invited to our ceremonies on Rains' behalf to the organizers. And they informed me that they would get the invitations sent out before the end of the day and have them hand-delivered.
